I actually had this product for a long time, I used it on my lashes and they thickened a bit so I stopped using them. I had some bad experiences with over plucking my eyebrows and one time my scissors accidentally cut off a bit of my eyebrows. Scared and hopeless, I rushed to find this product hidden somewhere in my room. Once I found it, I figured it could do no harm to my eyebrows, about 2-3 weeks later my brows thickened dramatically, and I went from nearly drawing on my brows everyday to being able to go out without filling in my brows. This product definitely works if you give it some time and ignore the funky smell!
I was super excited about this product when I read about it. I ordered it on Amazon for about 10 dollars, which seemed like a great deal considering there are new prescription products available for 20 times that price.
Unfortunately, after about 4 months of regular use I haven't noticed much of a change. My lashes are softer, but otherwise that's the only difference. I had purchased it mostly for use on my brows (very thin and sparse) but I haven't noticed any change at all with them.
The product is sticky, and dries stiffly, which works if you plan to use it for a brow taming gel or a clear mascara but, when it dries you can feel it tightening. I only apply it before bed for this reason.
After reading so many positive reviews I had high hopes for this product, and I will continue to use it until the whole tube is gone (maybe another week or two), but I won't be buying it again.
I started buying Ardell Brow and Lash Growth Accelerator after I read a review that it helped a lady suffering from Alopecia quickly regrow her eyelashes. The price was quite cheap, so there was little to lose. It doesn't smell the best, but it does work for me. I have especially noticed a difference in my lower eyelashes.
I feel that it mainly thickens the eyelashes, as opposed to significantly lengthening them. Moreover, it conditions to leave lashes feeling silky and soft, reducing the brittleness which usually occurs from wearing mascara. I typically put it on at night, but sometimes I use it as a primer under my mascara, which is also helpful in holding the curl of my lashes. Overall, for this price, it is worth a try to see if it will work for you.
Ardell Brown & Lash Accelerator
What it is: a clear mascara type product that promises to help thicken/lengthen lashes and brows.
Where to get it: Anywhere Ardell products are sold, I got mine from RiteAid.
How much: About $7
What I like about it: There's a LOT of product in the tube and there's no real time frame. So that way when you've noticed your brows or lashes are at the thickness or length you want, you can stop using it. Personally, I used this only on my lashes. I used it for roughly 2 weeks, religiously, and saw pretty awesome results. My lashes were much thicker. I'm not sure I saw a dramatic different in length, but they were definitely thicker. At some point, I'm planning on using this product again, just to see what more I could get out of it.
What I could do without: the smell. It smells kinda funky... not horrible though. Also, I could definitely do without waking up in the morning to a gooey feeling around my eyes. Its not the same feeling as having crusty eyes, but it bothers me the same way. It just feels like I got sleep all around my eyes, but I actually don't.
Overall: I've still got plenty of product left. And as I said, I'm gonna keep using it to get as much out of it as I can. But that might take a while so I don't think it would be necessary to repurchase.
