For our cats we use the non-lightweight, multi-cat... but it's a fairly heavy box. So when we saw the lightweight version, we thought, let's do this! However, we soon found out that while the box is significantly lighter to carry, the litter sticks to our cats paws a lot more - with their excrement - and ends up a huge mess around the box and throughout the house... and since it's a thin, small, fine grain... it's a pain in the butt to clean up.
the lightweight dust free is different than the regular, i found the clumping to still be effective but there is an odd smell with this litter and the color is different. I find the regular litter to be better over the lightweight but i was happy to try it.
I had a hard time finding this product in stock but when I did find it I was suprised by the price. It is about double the price of my normal brand of cat litter. It did the job well but I don't think my cat liked the fact that I changed her litter because she went outside of the box a couple of times. It has a fresh smelling odor and I'm sure would be good for cats that aren't picky about sticking to the same brand of litter. I prefer litter that comes in a box with a lid that is easy to take off an on that I can scoop the litter out of. A heavy box is harder to lift so I need to take the whole top off to put a scoop in.
This works well. The cat seemed to like it in that he kept using the litter box with this in it. The price was a bit steep even with a coupon which I had when I bought it. I like trying new things, but have to admit price would be a reason to not keep buying this product.
As a lover of Arm & Hammer's regular Clump & Seal Litter, I was excited to be chosen to try their new LightWeight version. Their regular one has amazing clumping ability - better than I've ever found with any other litter. Sadly, I didn't find the same with the Lightweight. It just didn't seem to clump any better than the average, much cheaper litter. My other disappointment was the scent. Cats have a very strong sense of smell, and I don't impose scented litter on mine. The added scents are for us, not them. As for weight, Clump & Seal LightWeight is a dream! Not having to lug heavy litter home from the store, and then when disposing, is a huge bonus to me. Unfortunately, given the average clumping ability I experienced with this new version along with the high price, even on sale, Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal LightWeight just isn't for me.
I was given the oppurtunity to try this for free. I would not be able to afford this14.99 I have 2 cats and go threw way to much litter to be paying this price. I had a very difficult time finding this product. I was very impressed at how light the package is. The litter is a little to fine but my cats did not seem to have a problem with it
I found arm & hammer clump seal very pricey but liked the smell and how the cat litter clumps up for easy cleaning. My cat wasn't sure at first but in the end used it.
got this item for free from Chick Advisor, so that I could give my honest opinion....unfortunately my honest opinion isn't one of high praise.
I was excited when I grabbed the container and noticed how much lighter it was than normal. No hurt hands! Woot.
I changed the litter when I got home for my two cats, and waited. After the female used it for the first time... she made paw prints everywhere! It is so dusty! I only used it for half a day before going to scoop and the dust flew everywhere! If I have trouble breathing while scooping it out due to the dust, I can't imagine how bad it is for the cats when they go about doing their business.
It scoops easily enough, clumps and hides smells (I do always scoop numerous times a day though), but I don't want litter to travel everywhere. Not only does it make a mess in my home, it means the cats are probably eating it while cleaning themselves. I won't be purchasing it.
I received the 4.08kg Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal LightWeight Cat Litter for free to try from the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club.
My first impression is how light the product was, sure beats hurting your arm with other products. However, the expensive cost behind this product also stood out to me at almost $15; it's much more expensive than my usual choice and I get a lot less litter as well. The upside was that the litter lasted a week with my cats, so I was able to benefit from the high cost with that.
I have 2 male cats (2 1/2 years & 8 years), and they both have very different cat litter rituals, but the ammonia smell tends to be strong at times so I always go for a multi-cat formula that helps mask the smell. This product had a pleasant smell, albeit a little too strong for myself as I am sensitive to smells; but the smell only lasted a little less than a day. I found the product still had dust, which was a little disappointing as the product claimed being 100% Dust-Free, however, it didn't track outside the litter box quite as much as I had expected.
All in all, my cats weren't affected by the change in their litter and I would definitely think about using the product again, BUT only if the item was on Sale. There just wasn't enough of a difference to make me change from my usual litter this new product!
the litter is so dusty, it is a dark grey color, that when by black cat was done covering her business, she had dark grey dust boots on that got all over the floor, rugs, and furniture after one use.
