Operation is very simple. Simply slide the power button upwards and the unit turns on. There is only one speed- no other functions. You do need to charge it before its first use.

The instructions suggest to soak your feet first, but also towel dry, before using this. You cannot have wet feet, so no using this in the shower or tub. It does work better after soaking, but is not 100% necessary.

The exfoliator works like a rotating sandpaper. Touch the exfoliator head to where you want o exfoliate. Be careful to do a bit at a time as you don’t want to overdo it. This unit is quite powerful and you need to work to hold it steady.

Due to its power, it is a bit difficult to use it in more awkward spots such as the sides of your toes. You do need to hold it steady. The active area of exfoliation is fairly small, so you need to be specific with what area you are targeting. This also means that it takes time if you have lots of exfoliating to do.

It can be a bit messy since you are grinding off deadskin, so use this over a towel, over your tub/shower, garbage can etc. The cleaning brush works well to sweep away accumulated skin cells after using.

Overall, it keeps its charge well and like mentioned it is quite powerful. It does a good exfoliating job. I would recommend this unit and would consider purchasing one as a gift.

I ordered the Art Naturals Electric Callus Remover after trying several similar "store brand" battery operated Callus Removers and being disappointed with the results. I liked the idea of recharging the unit instead of replacing batteries. The unit is very lightweight and comfortable in your hands, easy to grip and with a comfortable angle of use. Charging the unit does not take long (although it would be nice if the charging light were to maybe change color after the charge is complete). We have used the unit several times for over half and hour at time, set it down and come back to it the next day, happy to see that the charge has lasted that long. The heads work well on even thick, rough calluses, grinding evenly and painlessly. I was happy to discover that there are several safety features built in, as the long pant leg of my sweat pants were pulled in to the moving head - which immediately stopped all movement. Also, if you press too hard, all movement stops, so you are not in a position where the head will grind deeper then wanted.

This unit works exactly as it is supposed to - easy to use, the charge is much more convenient then changing batteries, and the head lasts quite awhile. We have used this product for about 6 operating hours now within our family, and the head is still working well. I refreshed under a little bit of running water, and it feels almost brand new. The unit also comes with a replacement head, and new heads are available through the seller.

I am still trying to locate a vendor who sells the replacement heads - the original Amazon vendor does not.

I purchased these at a discount and I had never tried anything like this before but after a long winter my feet were in need of it. I think it's great that this is rechargeable so I don't gave to mess around with batteries, This worked extremely well on the dry patches on my feet. This is something I will continue to use on a regular basis and I should have gotten this sooner.
