As Fitz is reborn he bonds more fully with Nighteyes and Nighteyes in turn begins to think more like a human. Fitz is driven both by his need to revenge himself on Regal but also by a mental message from Verity to come to him. As he is driven by this need he finds companions in a minstrel, an old woman, and people from his past and learns the truths of many of the legends of the Six Duchies. As this knowledge grows he finds himself fulfilling the prophecies of the Fool. This is an excellent conclusion to the trilogy.
