For the price, this little thing is AWESOME! For Christmas I got my boyfriend an actual GoPro Hero, but figured I would get a back up, or one for me, for when we go four-wheeling. The first thing, make sure you get yourself a memory card, this does NOT come with one, luckily I just "borrowed" the one from the GoPro temporarily to test this out. The main difference with this one, that I am really a fan of....you can see what you are recording, as it is recording. This is a nice feature to have, so you can make sure everything is in the shot, and can adjust it as needed before you go out and play. Within the camera is a menu, which is very simple to use and understand. Just use the side buttons to go up and down through the menu, and the top button to switch sections of the menu. So the recorded video....I was able to use the included USB plug to plug this into my laptop and download the pictures, no extra software was needed. Since the weather has not been great, I used this around the house, and was quite surprised with the quality of the recording. Everything came out clear! This does pick up sound, but I found that to be on the lower side, I may just need to make some adjustments in the settings. Along with the camera, you get some mounting brackets for different uses, which I think is pretty nice to have. Overall, at this point....this ASX 1080p Waterproof Sports Cam is a great camera to have, especially for a beginner!
