When testing out this dashcam, I was a little worried that it would be complicated to set up or use, as I'd never had one before. Thankfully, this dashcam is extremely simple to install. It comes with a very well-designed suction cup that clicks right into the camera, and then attaches quickly to any part of the windshield. It has a little lever which applies additional suction to the glass, ensuring it won't fall off, and can still be moved around easily, so you're not going to damage your camera with a fall!

The only major issue I had with this dashcam was the fact that the product listing fails to mention it requires a micro-SD card, and a big one at that. It recommends a 64gb card, which can set you back 20 or 30 dollars easily on its own. Thankfully I found a 32 gb micro-sd card I'd kept around, and was able to use that. Keep that in mind when buying this product though, as the videos will quickly eat up a ton of space, and no less than 32 GBs is likely to do the trick. There are settings to allow auto-deletion of the videos after a certain length of time to save space, which is really handy.

Non-tech savvy people might not realise a micro-SD card is needed, so I had to knock off a star for the omission. If the description on this product was updated to reflect the need for a large micro SD card, it would be a five star review for sure!

The camera itself has a pretty stunning variety of features and settings. The quality of the photos and videos can be adjusted, it has a motion-sensor system you can use to protect your parked car, and it works in works surprisingly well in low-light situations like driving at night. You can set it up to keep recording for several minutes after you park, or to automatically turn off to save power if you'd prefer. The camera does require a USB connection, which is provided, but I found the dangling wire to be a distraction. The instruction manual recommends you run this wire along the ceiling and edge of the car, but in some vehicles that's just not a reasonable option.

I really like that you only need a cigarette lighter to power it, as it means it's an option even for older cars!

Overall, I enjoyed having this dashcam in my car. It's the kind of device you can set up and then forget about, knowing it's doing its job day after day until you actually need it. The added security is much appreciated.
