Bluetooth speakers are the kind of device that come in so many varieties that it can be hard to judge them all against each other. Some are great for certain situations, but bad for others, so knowing what you want out of your speaker is really key. For this Ausdom AS2 speaker, I found that it excelled in a few situations, including listening at home, in small groups, when travelling, or even in the shower.

The speaker is designed to be convenient to travel with, and it shows. The blue silicone reduces any damage from bumps or small tumbles, and it's water resistant, meaning it can withstand some splashes but not major submersion. It's small and very portable thanks to fitting easily in your hand, and having a small strap you can carry or tie onto something.

If you're using this speaker at home, the strap can be useful for hanging it up somewhere to better be heard. The audio quality is very good, and the speaker manages to put out good volume in every direction, even if it's facing away from you. The maximum volume is nothing crazy, and might actually be disappointing if you want to use this for huge parties or large crowds. But for small groups or listening alone, it's plenty loud and I found the bass to be pretty good!

Finally if you don't have a bluetooth-compatible device, or just prefer not to use it, this speaker can also be hooked in with an AUX cable that is included, so you have plenty of options. Battery life is around four hours, and I found popping and static were not a problem at all while I was using it.
