The Avanti Mini Hair Straightener is perfect for people with short hair or who travel a lot. The size is very compact and light, making it easy to carry with you in a bag, or to grab hold of those short pieces of hair.

The plates are made of ceramic, which I've always found to be more effective. There's only one heat setting, which takes effect when you switch it into the "on" position. The straightener heats up quickly, and at maximum strength, it does get VERY hot. I typically only need it to warm up for about 30-50 seconds before I can start using it. Once it's heated up, it straightens hair in a single pass. It's a high quality straightener for a very good price.

The size makes it ideal for my hair. I have very short hair, and my other straightener -- which is standard size -- is simply too large and bulky to grab on to such small, fine strands. Additionally, I have very small hands, and this makes it very easy for me to hold.

I would highly recommend this product if you're looking for something smaller that packs the same amount of punch as a regular-sized hair straightener.
