Moisturizing SPF30

This moisturizer is as thick as a sunscreen would feel. It moisturizes nicely but also makes your skin feel like there is a thick layer of cream in your face until fully absorbed into your skin. The orange looking cream, has a nice gentle scent also, not overpowering. Would go perfect under your makeup and with your daily routine.

Great winter sunscreen

Being in my 40s, I have to start thinking about how my skin ages. There are two things I’m terrible with; eye cream and sunscreen.  I’m an indoor cat and I keep thinking that I don’t need sunscreen because I stay in the shade. Yet, I still get sunspots. The last few years I’ve been really trying to get a daytime moisturizer with SPF. I was really excited to receive the @aveenoca Calm and Restore Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30 from @thisisbutterly

This is a mineral sunscreen. I usually try to get a mineral sunscreen instead of chemical, because chemical sunscreens penetrate into your skin and offer protection by dissipating UV rays. Mineral sunscreens simply sit on top of your skin and reflect UV rays away from your skin, creating a barrier. My only problem with mineral sunscreen is the smell and the white cast, both caused by the main ingredients in mineral sunscreens; titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Yes, zinc oxide…the main ingredient in diaper rash cream.
 
Upon first opening this sunscreen, I noticed that it looked tinted, but it goes on the skin colorless. This moisturizer is unscented and good for sensitive, which means I can smell the active ingredients, but it’s light and goes away. It goes on slightly thicker than some other sunscreens I’ve used, but absorbs well and doesn’t seem to leave a white cast. Because it is thick, it leaves a dewy feel on my skin. A welcomed feeling during our cold Canadian months.

I think it’s a little heavy for hot summer days, but a great moisturizer for the winter. Yes, you still need sunscreen in the winter.

Decent daily moisturizer with SPF

I've tried many skincare brands over the years and Aveeno is familiar and feels "safe" to me. It's also an accessible brand since it's carried at most major grocery stores. Given that background, I had high hopes for this product. I ALWAYS use SPF because my grandmother drilled it into me as I was growing up (she always warned me about skin cancer). As many know, SPF usually has a whiteish tint once applied... Luckily, this absorbed quickly so it didn't leave a white cast! At first, it came out as a salmon-ish colour (like tinted moisturizer) and I was worried it wouldn't blend in, but it did. While I don't think it provided any coverage like a tinted moisturizer would, I wasn't expecting it to. I'll continue to use this as my daily moisturizer because it works well for my sensitive skin, but I'll find a product with higher SPF protection for the summer when I'm outdoors more (I usually have 100+ SPF sunscreen). Overall, a good product I'd recommend.

Lightweight moisturizer

I love this moisturizer because of how lightweight it feels! Great for sensitive skin and has the SPF needed for daily use! Only wish the bottles were a bit bigger but I love it!

Love this product! It's lightweight but feel amazing on my face. Used it while traveling and it was the only thing I used on my face, no makeup required

Hydrating daily face spf

I have used Aveeno® Calm + Restore Daily Moisturizer with Mineral SPF 30 for a few days now as part of my daily routine. I have tried it by itself after cleanser as well as after my vitamin C serum, and before putting on foundation. I do find that it leaves me with less redness and more even skin tone but the texture of the lotion is slightly tacky on my skin when first applying. This feeling does seem to go away but my skin is left feeling hydrated all day. I will buy in the future and would recommend.

Very nice! Feels good, doesn’t smell too strong but does smell of sunscreen. I like how it doesn’t have fragrance in it so it won’t disturb my skin. It will be fun to use this in my daily routine! Also gives you a bit of a glow!

Blended Perfectly With My Skin Tone!

💯 I've really been enjoying this moisturiser, although I was surprised that it was tinted lol! Would be great if a colour swatch was shown on the box. Although it says it blends with all skin tones, it's nice to have a choice. No one knows your skin better than you!

‼️ Now, what surprised me even more was how beautifully it blended in with MY skin tone! Reminds me of one of my favourite cc creams, but with added skin benefits, like full spectrum spf 30 protection! I really love the combination of a moisturiser & sunscreen, & the tint is a bonus! This moisturiser is very hydrating, soothing, works well under makeup, and no white cast. I will restocking 💯‼️

I like it

I used it consistently. So, it’s not greasy, it gives you smooth finish. I only used to apply it once in the morning after my regular skin care routine. The only thing I am not sure about it is whether I got pimples after using it or just randomly got them.

Nice moisturizer!

I’m a big fan of Aveeno, and I am so happy I got to try their Calm and Restore Moisturizer in exchange for my honest review. Sunscreen is a must in my skincare routine, and this moisturizer has SFP 30 for UVA/USB protection. It is non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog pores or cause breakouts; this is a huge plus for my acne-prone skin. This moisturizer also has no fragrance, which is something I really appreciate! It has a creamy consistency, however, it’s a bit of a sticky application – I would say this is the one negative thing about this moisturizer. It did leave my skin with a nice glow, which honestly, I was worried that it would eventually turn my skin greasy. But to my pleasant surprise, that nice glow stayed put throughout the day, without grease buildup! I also wore this moisturizer under makeup, and it held up very well.
Overall, I really like Aveeno’s Calm and Restore Moisturizer – I recommend! Thank you Butterly for the opportunity to try this great moisturizer 😊
