Not for all skin tones
I received the Aveeno® Calm + Restore Daily Face Moisturizer Mineral SPF 30 for free from Butterly. I have to say that I'm quite disappointed. I am black with a lighter skin tone, and this moisturizer leaves a white film on your skin. Just a heads up, this product is not for anyone who is darker than a fair complexion.
Difficult to Rub In & Sticky
I really wanted to like this, but unfortunately, it really didn't work for me and I didn't like it at all. I have tried other Aveeno sunscreens and enjoyed them in the past but I felt that this one was incredibly difficult to rub in and felt sticky on my skin all day long. I know this is a characteristic of most mineral sunscreens but I did not like how this one felt on my skin. It also clung weird to certain areas of my face and made my skin appear drier in areas. It didn't have a strong sunscreen smell though which I did appreciate. I strongly believe we should all be wearing sunscreen every day of the year, even in winter, but the product needs to be easy for me to use if I am going to apply it every day.
It has a white cast
I would not recommend for women of color as it has a white cast. It seems like it could be a decent project but I am personally unable to use it which is unfortunate.
Not what I expected
I really wanted to like this product, unfortunately it just missed on all imporant marks for me. The packaging was great, thin and easy to get product out.
My issues are with the product itself. First, the smell was not pleasant, reminds me of old expired cream. The texture of the mositurizure starta out thin and nice, but as you begin to apply to your skin it because thick and difficult to spread. It reminds me of baby rash ointment, that might be because of the zinc ingredients but still it didnt sit right on my face. Also, because the mositurizure starts to thicken it leaves white splotches on your face.
The last comment may only apply to me but my skin did react to it. The moisturizure is suppose to be for sensitive skin but my face because itchy within a minute and my skin has reacted with tiny red bumps.
Unfortunately, this product is a miss.
