Pourquoi ?
Je ne comprend vraiment pas pourquoi avoir fait ce produit sous forme de crème avec enbout, la texture est collante et pas très agréable, elle prend trop de temps à sécher.
Greasy ointment with a cool applicator!
To start off, I honestly wasn't a huge fan of this ointment. It was super greasy and a bit gritty. It also didnt moisturize like the balm did. I suppose it would work on actual cracked skin, but I don't have cracked and bkeeding type skin thank goodness! The little silicone piece where the product comes out is pretty cool though, but also pretty useless lol I just think the balm is amazing and the ointment lacking.
No more effective than the balm
I received this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion.
I dont feel like this ointment is worth the money. It's no thicker or better than the balm. And you get a lot less product. You still have to rub it in, so I dont really understand why you would ever need a targeted treatment. The only benefit to this product over the balm is that it's more portable. So if that's an issue for you, I would recommend this product in particular to meet your needs.
It goes on a little bit thicker than the balm, but it's not as oily and sinks in quickly. No smell that I can detect, which is nice.
Unsure of its Benefites
I'm always excited when Chick Advisor lets me 'try before I buy', & Aveeno's cracked skin relief CICA ointment was the perfect product for me to try. I battle dry skin all year round, but especially in the cold & dry months. The timing of this campaign wasn't quite ideal though because my skin hasn't cracked since the spring weather begun. So I didn't have any real cracks to test it out on. However, I did try it on a blister that was half healed, to try & speed up the process of skin regeneration. It might have helped a bit but it's hard to say for sure. This product is basically a glorified petroleum jelly, so I'll wait until next winter hits to try it again.
Not impressed
I tried this product and was disappointed. The first ingredient is petroleum jelly which disappointed me, as I was hoping shea butter or triple oat complex would be the first in the ingredient list, but sadly this is towards the end of the product list. This product honestly reminds me of Vaseline petroleum jelly. I do however love that is is fragrance free and in a tube instead of a tub.
Precision application
I received my tube of Aveeno Cracked Skin Relief Ointment and knew I needed to use it on my feet! The precision applicator made it easier to apply the product directly onto the cracks on my feet at night so I didn't have to worry about excess product transferring to my sheets. I believe this Ointment has made some difference in the appearance of my feet and I'm looking forward to sandal season!!
Basically Vaseline!
I was very fortunate to have been selected by Chickadvisor to test this product out for free!
What I first noticed about this is how convenient it is. It has a plastic tip that kind of looks like a marker that helps distribute the product in hard to reach places. The tube itself is also small enough that I could easily slip this in my purse for on-the-go care.
As for the product itself, I feel like it's just glorified vaseline. It has the exact same texture, but I find that it doesn't absorb. Most often I would use this on my hands, specifically in the cuticle area. It doesn't matter how much I would try to massage it in the area, for some reason it just would not absorb. It sits on my skin as opposed to sinking in. So unfortunately, I don't find this to be too useful throughout the day.
How I used it after this was primarily at night. I would place the product in and around the cracks in my fingers and slip on a moisture barrier glove at night, and I found that it did significantly soften the cracked, calloused areas. But, I feel like I could get similar results with the glove and regular vaseline.
In the end, I don't think I would recommend this product because it is so pricey. I don't feel like this is more effective than your classic vaseline. The greatest benefit is the unique application. I really like the tube and the plastic applicator. It makes it so much more convenient for use on-the-go, but at the same time the product doesn't absorb well on my skin.
Nothing special
I found that the applicator just made it a pain in the butt to apply and I ended up using my hands to apply it. The product feels good and light on damaged skin, but I didn’t find that it was anything special.
It does not have fragrance, which is a huge bonus. It goes on clear and doesn’t feel greasy, but I’ll be sticking to the balm over the ointment, as I find it to be a better value and just as effective. It’s not a bad product at all, I just found that the applicator was not for me and I didn’t notice a vast difference between the balm and ointment to be worth the hassle.
Great but not for my needs
This thick cream is perfect for little patch of dry skin because of the applicator. When I have dry skin, it’s on a big regon, not a little spot. I found it difficult with the tiny applicator to apply the cream. Maybe it is good for people with eczema but I Would have prefer a normal distributor
Ineffective and oily
I have really dry and cracked skin on my hands, so when I got this from ChickAdvisor I was dying to try it.
I was happy to know it is perfume-free, however it did not hold up to it's claims of repairing dry, cracked skin. It made my hands so incredibly greasy, it looked like I had been playing with coconut oil. And moisturizing? Not in my experience.
As for the packaging, I'm also unsure of why there is an applicator tip - it just seems unnecessary to me.
Sadly this didn't work out for me, but I know Aveeno makes great products - this could work better for you than it did for me!
