A moisturizing eczema balm

I was really excited to try Aveeno Eczema Care Itch Relief Balm because I have a lot of redness and dry skin. The balm itself is very moisturizing. It is a thick consistency, kind of like a thick cream and petroleum jelly mixed together, but it is non-greasy. I used it on the back of my hands because they tend to get red and crack in the cold winter air, and it was very healing. It was also very effective on any patches I got on my body that tend to get red and flaky.

I tried it on my face because I have bad eczema around my chin and unfortunately it did not work. After a few days it was really flaring up and spreading so I had to switch back to my usual products, and mixing in some tea tree oil which helped to calm it down. Its been 2 weeks and the area still looks scarred from the flare up. Im not sure if it was due to the cold weather, the change in my skincare, or if it was bound to flare up but it was not effective on my face. I cant really blame this balm for it because I have found it has been hit or miss whether products work for me or not. I found the balm to be very healing otherwise, and would recommend it for people with mild eczema, or for someone looking for an amazing moisturizer.

Value: 5/5 - It can be expensive but you do get a huge tub for $20. The price is comparable to other eczema products and a little goes a long way with this one.

Quality: 5/5 - I think the quality is very nice for a balm. It is thick and moisturizing and non-greasy.

Effectiveness: 4/5 - I had mixed results with this product, so I think the effectiveness can vary from person to person, depending on their skin condition.

AVEENO® Eczema Care is the Solution

For years I have suffered from dermatitis specifically on my fingertips. Harsh detergents irritate the area and the skin becomes itchy, red, inflamed, and almost raw. Until recently I hadn’t found a product (prescribed or not) that actually provided long term relief; however, I was very fortunate to be accepted through ChickAdvisor to test AVEENO® Eczema Care Itch Relef Balm (#gotitfree). I applied the balm and instantly felt soothing relief ... the balm provided a barrier but it didn’t have a greasy feel to it. The following day I noticed the raw-like redness had disappeared and I didn’t feel pain nor did I feel any itchiness. I was in disbelief! I trusted the process and continued applying the balm regularly and within a few days my fingertips were back to normal. Amazing! The difference was amazing but even more amazing (to me) was that it actually worked! This is worth gold! I most definitely recommend this product to anyone with dermatitis and/or eczema. I will continue using and purchasing it because it is effective, and I think the price is very fair. You’re definitely getting your money’s worth; it’s a high quality product that has thoroughly impressed me.

Effective & Soothing Eczema Care

I received the Aveeno Eczema Care for free from ChickAdvisor and Aveeno. This is an effective product for itch relief and eczema care that healed active flare ups I had on my arms, legs and face! The soothing and calming properties are long-lasting to help stop itching. I think the balm is a bit sticky and leaves a residue after application - I would recommend using this at night or spot treating with it during the day. I think it is the best eczema product I've tried to date. Would repurchase.

PERFECT FOR DRY ITCHY SKIN

I received the Aveeno Eczema Care free for review from ChickAdvisor and Aveeno.
Ive never tried a cream quite like this before. I would almost describe the consistency as vaseline mixed with an Aveeno cream. In the winter my skin gets terribly dry. Especially my hands; they also tend to itch because of the dryness. Aveeno Eczema Care has helped me immensely these past few weeks. I highly recommend this to anyone who suffers from eczema or anyone who needs intensive moisture.

Very Impressed, and Relieved...

After receiving this cream for free for review purposes I began using it on my hands as they were dry and chapped because of the cold and dry winter weather. I found the cream to be very helpful. What was most impressive is the results it has had on my daughter; who suffers greatly with dry skin in the winter. This formula seems to have done the trick and has proven to be more effective than any other cream I have previously tried. I am quite impressed!

Conflicted Review

It took me quite a while and several applications on not just myself, but my husband and daughter as well. The following review is based on all of our opinions on the product. I would like to thank ChickAdvisor and Aveeno for allowing me to review this product, free of charge.

To give a background on my family’s need for a product such as Aveeno’s Ezcema Itch Relief Cream ...
Me: Currently taking Accutane low dose for hormonal acne. Skin is very dry. I also have both ezcema and psoriasis.
Daughter: 5yrs old, has very dry skin and keratosis pilaris. She also suffers from ezcema on her hands and feet.
Husband: Doesn’t take care of his skin and is always coming to me when his skin is literally falling off lol

Needless to say, we had lots of use for this product. These are the quick points of our trial;

-Very moisturizing and gentle, nobody reacted to it
- Was very thick and didn’t really absorb into the skin. You were left with it just sitting on your skin and seeing as we have pets, it was a recipe for hair stuck all over
- Stuck to clothes ... felt greasy
- It WAS effective at relieving the itch associated with ezcema and dry skin
- Sadly, nobody saw a difference in their eczema

Overall, I don’t think we would purchase this cream again. I just don’t think it worked for us. I have repurposed it as a hand and foot cream, and I find it absolutely perfect for that. I would probably purchase it if it came in a smaller, purse friendly squeeze tube to be used for this purpose. TIP: if you’re like me and wash your hands a billion times a day and get painfully dry hands, this cream is amazing for that!

Works so quickly

This Aveeno Dry skin product is the best I have ever used, Got it free to try and WOW amazing first day results. It's been a few days now and really can use it for your whole body not just 1 area! Great size container it comes in, easy to glide this cream on the effected skin areas. I would definitely recommend this fast action working cream for anybody with a skin condition. I have noticed how much more soft my skin is getting with daily use. Works excellent for dry red itchy skin. Sure helped with mine.

Amazing

I've had Eczema on both hands n my one wrist now for a while and I've literally tried everything so when Aveeno came out with a balm especially for eczema I knew I had to try it being that Aveeno has never disappointed me before! So I stopped using my $180 medicated creme and started to use the Aveeno and within a week using it twice a day it was night n day! It cleared up my hand in no time, then I thought my hands get so dry in the winter why not try it on my whole hands and honestly I've never had such soft smooth hands in the winter before! Aveeno Eczema Care Itch Relief Balm

I received the Aveeno Eczema Care Itch Relief Balm free courtesy of ChickAdvisor in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. ChickAdvisor has sent a generous tub of Aveeno Eczema Care Itch Relief Balm for me to try out. The price is a bit expensive but considering how big the tub is it is worth it. A little goes a long way. The balm itself is very thick and there is no scent to it. However, when I applied it I feel like the balm smelled like the carmex lip balm. It was strong at first and then the smell went away. The Aveeno Eczema Care Itch Relief Balm worked so well during these few days of extreme cold winter. My knuckles and face felt very dry and flakey. When I first applied the balm it felt oily but afterwards my skin felt so smooth and soft. You only need to apply a little bit. I applied this on my toddler as well since they have been using the Aveeno Eczema Care for baby and it works wonders. I knew that if the Aveeno Eczema Care Itch Relief Balm was similar to the baby one it would be an amazing product. I would totally recommend this product and would purchase it again.

A little goes a long way

Aveeno is my go-to brand for eczema flare ups and this balm is no exception.
My hands get extremely dried out to the point of cracking in the winter, so I love how long lasting this balm is. My advice is to start with about half the amount of lotion you would normally use and go from there as its quite thick but still spreads well.
Since this is designed for sensitive skin I also tried it out on my 10 month old's cheeks which have been chapped due to all the drool from teething combined with cold and dry weather. Within 3 days of putting a tiny amount on his cheeks twice a day his skin is back to being soft and healthy looking (and feeling!).
Yet another great product from Aveeno, I highly recommend it.
