90% OF CHICKS DIG IT
Ok, I am a huge Aveeno fan and I adore the Intense Relief Lip Therapy balm, but this Essential Lip Conditioner is awful! It actually dries out my lips!!! After having it on for about 5-10 minutes, my lips kind of shrivel up and dry out... it's really odd! Now, it smells fantastic and feels super great when it's freshly put on, but it just doesn't last and makes my lips feel worse. At close to 5 bucks per stick, it's not worth it for me.
I am going to start with the price. Right off the bat, its overpriced. Almost $6 for a lip balm is nuts in my eyes. I would never pay that amount.
The quality of it, well I do find that it leaves a white film on my lips, that I have to constantly wipe off. Not very impressed with that part
I do find it makes your lips nice and soft. So its effective in that sense :)
I use this lip conditioner everyday, and it lasts for a very long time. It really does moisturise my lips and make them feel softer, but I think it may be too greasy. I was wondering why there is SPF 15 in this lip conditioner though. I really don't think my lips will get a sunburn when exposed to the sun, so the SPF 15 is really not necessary.
I got this as a bonus from another product (and thank God for that, 'cause I would have never purchased this by itself, mostly due to its price, and as you'll see below, it's ineffectiveness).
I've been using Chapstick as lip balm since... a long time ago, though I tried Nivea a few years ago (it was really bad in comparison to Chapstick), and Lysol (it was ok, though I dropped it on the ground after one use, so can't say much about it). Anyways, this does not work as well as Chapstick for me. The taste is pretty awesome, but besides that, it doesn't really seem to absorb well. After a while, my lips just feel dry again (this is during daytime). Chapstick doesn't make my lips feel dry right after applying, but that might be due to the fact that it remains stickier for long. I haven't tried this for night-use (Chapstick is AWESOME to use at night), but based on its day-results, I don't have high expectations for it.
PROS:
Smells/tastes nice
Has SPF
CONS:
Doesn't seem to really moisturize my lips (leaves my lips dry) -- Basically doesn't serve its purpose at all, except for the really short short-term (aka a few minutes)
After I finish using it, I won't be buying it again. (Back to Chapstick I go!)
After using this product more, and also trying out other kinds of lip balms (like the free birthday lip balms from Sephora), I'm actually liking this product more and more! In fact, I'd choose this over Chapstick since it has SPF, smells wonderful, and has a lighter consistency. Though perhaps it's still a tiny bit less moisturizing than Chapstick, I've definitely changed my tune about this product -- to bad I can't edit the stars I gave it! Though it's a bit pricey, I'm more inclined to consider buying it when my lip balms run out or expire, and I'd recommend this product to anyone!
I thought this product would work out really well, but I'm a bit dissapointed. First of all, there is no smell at all; except a creamy smell after you apply it on your lips. Second, after I applied it on, my lips dry out in less than 30 minutes. It only moisturizes for a short period of time. Besides; the price is not really worth the quality of this product.
I like the smooth texture but I find that after an hour of wear, I need to reapply again (might be because I have dry and sensitive skin to begin with). The vanilla scent smells so nice!! It's definitely affordable. It's very smooth.
The store was out of my usual lip balm and I was out and about and really needed some lip balm so I decided to give Aveeno Essential Lip Conditioner a try since I have heard great things about Aveeno. In terms of conditioning my lips it did the trick...moisturized and gave a good looking finish to my lips. The lip balm was not waxy and did glide on smoothly but I did not like the taste or smell of it. If ever you have opened a bag of Cadbury Minieggs...this is what this balm smells like. I guess it is not a bad thing but is just preference and personally I did not like it. If you are looking for a low price lip balm I would recommend Lipsyl or Chapstick over Aveeno Essential Lip Conditioner.
