My boy likes it
I don’t have a problem with spots, so I gave it to my 14-year-old son who has a spotty forehead which he doesn’t like. He applied to his forehead morning an evening after washing his face. The sample size gave him enough for a week and in that week he noticed a huge improvement in his spots. He didn’t get any more and those he had were at first less red and sore, gone by the end of the week. He would re-purchase this as this is the first product that has helped him with his spots. More importantly he liked using it as it was an invisible gel that he could applied directly on his spots individually or all over his forehead, his friends didn’t notice he was using a spot cream and when you are a 14-year-old that is so important.
Love this!
This serum has been so effective in calming down my stressed out skin. I’ve had a few angry breakouts over the Christmas period (probably due to my diet!) and I’ve needed something to soothe my skin. I also have sensitive skin so it’s difficult to find something to put on my skin that won’t irritate it. This serum has been just what I needed!
Great for sensitive skin
I have very sensitive skin so I'm wary of trying new products. Even in my thirties, I'm prone to blemishes, so I use a tea tree oil cleanser and stick to pure cocoa butter as a day time moisturizer. I've recently added the Balance Me serum at night, and it is wonderfully soothing and doesn't leave my skin red and splotchy like most serums do. Bonus that it's vegan and cruelty free!
Balance me congested skin serum
I received this 7ml sample in a beauty subscription box. It is quite a thin serum smells nice but quite strongly perfumed i would have thought for sensitive skin.
Introduced to this brand by birchbox
I received a travel size of this product in my birchbox subscription. I was actually recovering from a horrific breakout and remembered I wanted to get around to trying this since it is for congested skin. While it's mainly a spot treatment I put it nearly all over my face because my entire face was practically a problem area.
Here are some things I noticed. First and foremost the scent is very pleasant. It's bright and citrusy. It's pretty liquidy and not very thick. It dries very quickly. Nearly almost as fast as you can apply it to your face. You can already feel it drying right under your finger tips.
For something that is meant to be for congested skin it certainly contains a lot of oils which I discovered after reading the ingredients. It doesn't feel very oily so I don't believe there is a high concentration of oils and at the very least they're essential oils so you'd hope they're more pure. It definitely doesn't dry your skin out but it also doesn't moisturize very well which is the main think I look for in a serum. I want it to be the catalyst between my skin and my moisturizer to increase effectiveness.
It is supposed to calm the skin but the initial reaction it gave me was more invigorating than calming. I wore it overnight and my breakout didn't look any worse but I don't think it was any better either. Fortunately it didn't create any more acne and may be it even prevent some from surfacing for all I know. I'll give it another go in the future and see if my reactions change.
This product is great for those looking for natural beauty products. However, I don't find it as effective as salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide competitors in treating acne.
