90% OF CHICKS DIG IT
This was my all-time favourite lipgloss! It is not sticky at all, there are great colour options availble, and the packaging is to die for! It is totally nostalgic.
I bought 3 (confessions, 80's, and todays the day) through their website a few months back, when they had a sale.
I had been intrigued for a while now, and thought this was the perfect time, seeing as it couldn't cost too much and I wouldn't cry if it didn't live up to my standards, and I would at least be left with a cool keychain.
First to note is that for the most part, they are all quite sheer.
Which isn't too bad, but I loved the colour of Confessions, and wouldn't have minded it to be more pigmented.
Second is that you really have to twist the applicator to be able to put it on your lips (I think this was because they wanted to ensure that the product lasts well).
Third, the price isn't all that great for those who are used to buying cheap glosses, but they are non-sticky and very friendly for the lips. So really you are paying to not ingest all sorts of gross chemicals.
But in the end, I may be tempted to buy another when I use mine up. At the very least if I buy it through Sephora I can get points XD
As adorable as these glosses looked, I always resisted the urge to try them mainly because I have waaay too many glosses and I knew if I loved it I'd have to buy one. I had heard of the brand a while back and I used to always pass by them in Shoppers.
Luckily, the people at Balmshell were nice enough to send me a few samples to try! I love the whole story behind the brand and think the float art detail adds a nice touch. Not only does it have a fun quality to it but the lip glosses are high quality. The gloss really does hydrate your lips for hours and there are so many pretty colours to choose from. The shine doesn't last as long but I found the colour left a nice stain after it wore off.
I love Yummy Mummy, You Give Me Fever, and Ah...The Classic. The price might be a little steep for a gloss but it's like a keepsake. Yes, they are a little long and not as compact but who wouldn't want to pull these out in public? They are so adorable! These glosses are definitely at the top of my gloss list!
NEW COLOUR!!
I love the new colour "Beach Patrol"!! It has a coconuty scent and you can't beat that it's paraben free! Bought it at Shoppers three weeks ago and I'll definitely be going back for more!!
Balmshell lipgloss is more than just uber adorable. The formula goes on smooth, gives your lips a full shiny appearance without the stickiness, and a hint of vanilla flavouring. They have every shade of pink imaginable. The float art is so cute and since it is different depending on what colour you choose, it becomes a fun part of the selection process. When you're finished with the gloss, the float art is a removable collectable key chain.
At $22, it's not cheap, but it's very nice quality product and it makes a great gift! Balmshell cosmetics is a Toronto based company run by twin sisters Jen and Fiona Lees. The glosses are manufactured in Barrie, Ontario.
Bought this lipgloss a few weeks ago, and have really enjoyed using it! The colours are all gorgeous, and it really does seem to moisturize your lips while you wear it. The product is known for its moisturizing ingredients. Product does not feel too sticky or tacky.
Packaging is adorable as well!
Colour does not last more than most lipglosses, although did not seem to last noticeably less either.
So I got suckered into the uniqueness of this lip gloss, where you have floating artwork in the tube attached to the actual lip gloss. It's pretty packaging I must admit; however, it's not the most convenient when you want to whip out a long-ass tube trying to be discreet about glossing up in public. So I unscrewed the artwork half and it became a plain jane tube of lip gloss. The lip gloss itself is only ok. It smells good, has some sparkle in it and isn't that sticky. Although it doesn't last long so you would need to keep re-applying. All in all, I'll stick to my regular cargo lip glosses.
I love my "Balmshell" lipgloss! I have it in "You Give Me Fever" and I just love the shade of pink. The tube is really cute as the other end of it can be used as a keychain (it comes with a key ring). The best part about this lip gloss is that it's non-sticky like most are. It's kind of pricey but I still love it!
Jennifer and Fiona Lees from Toronto were in the search of the perfect lipgloss - aren't we all! They decided if they couldn't find it, they would develop their own. After years of working with a cosmetic manufacturer they developed a formula using only the finest ingredients to produce a high-shine, moisturizing lip-gloss.
What really caught my eye when I saw this product is the packaging. Balmshell has developed the most unique, creative packaging, I think I have ever seen. Each of the 10 glosses has its own floating art story inside - kind of like those pens you can get.
DARLING YOU LOOK FABULOUS
Sheer Hot Cherry Red ~ for those fabulous nights on the town!
Illustration description
This is a story of how a Balmshell prepares for a night out on the town. The story begins with a woman wrapped in her favorite plush terry cloth towel as she is getting ready for the big night. She then glides behind a changing screen and when she comes out, "Ta-Da!" she is effortlessly dressed and ready. She looks into the mirror and thinks to herself, "Darling you look fabulous!"
Each amusing story aims to celebrate the inner goddess that exists in all women.
When finished with your lip gloss unscrew the "float art" top and screw it into the keychain component provided in the packaging.
So far these delightful art glosses are only available in Canada and the UK but Balmshell will be opening their online store in the next little while so keep your eyes peeled.
