So I bought this product since everyone was raving about it. But was so disappointed with it. I have combination skin and this cake my face. After 2 hours, my skin was so oily and I can see the foundation running a little. EWWWww talk about nasty. Also it doesn't cover the redness around my nose. What a waste especially if you have oily to combination skin.

I really like the set of powders and brushes that I got all together for about $70. The foundation wasn't that much coverage but it was a nice light and natural look. I really love the translucent mineral veil and warmth, they are both so easy to use. The veil is what I use everyday to set things like concealer or just my t-zone and I am so happy with warmth because it will last me a long time and it doesn't have any weird streaks of shimmer but still gives you a bit of a glow.

I am, like most women out there, a big fan of BE foundations. I have been using the regular BE mineral foundation for the last two years. I have good success with it, and love the fact that it's free of harsh chemicals.

So, naturally when the matte formula came out last summer ( I believe it was then that I first saw it advertised) I wanted to try it because I suffer from an oil slick of a T-Zone, esp. in those humid summer months. I ordered it online (Sephora), and was not let down by the product at all. I like the new design where you can click open the dispensing area, closing it again when you are done, but I don't find that it's absolutely fool proof for spillage. Whatever product you haven't used is usually left sitting on top, and it's hard to get it back into the little tub again. However, a great improvement on the packaging just the same.

I am finding with the new matte formula I get more coverage with it, it seems to provide more of that flawless look everyone is after. It's almost as if the matte formula is more dense than the regular BE. Now for the oil absorption factor:.....I have to say it does give me a matte finish for almost all of the day, I still get a little bit of shine near the end of the day, but no where near what I was experiencing before. I didn't give the formula 5 stars just for this reason, and I realise everyone is going to experience different levels of oil control with it, some better than others. I can experience a very oily T-Zone at times and it can be hard for any make-up to contend with that.

I give the foundation itself 5 stars because it's not full of harsh chemicals and scents, and it does help to control shine very well. But the packaging still leaks and spills even with the new "Click Lock Go" component, so I won't be putting it in my make-up bag to take with me. I use BE's refillable kabuki brush for that. Price?...well, this matte formula is worth it, and I have paid a lot more than that for foundations that didn't perform half as well on me as this product does.


I am really happy with it overall, glad I purchased it and will continue to use it to help give me an even matte complexion. There's really no hints to give about using this formula, just apply it exactly as you would any of BE's mineral foundations. I did notice the other day that it is now available at Shopper's Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques too....which is awesome!

Love this stuff...makes my skin look flawless and so easy to apply!

I use bare minerals as my quick running-late-but-want-to-look-good makeup. It looks really natural, and takes the shine away. On days when I just want to remove shine, I only use Mineral Veil. It doesn't have colour, so it's really hard to apply it incorrectly. I always thought the product was just a gimmick and overpriced, but once I tried it, I realized how long a tub lasts with everyday use and how amazing it makes my skin look with just a few minutes of work.

Finally purchased my started kit but just applied it once since I bought it cause my skin was pretty dry and didn't look too good on my forehead specially, since it just made more visible dead dry skin I have there. It went in the lines and formed lines of make up in my cracked skin. I will try to apply again today and hopefully it looks better and give it the full rating it probably deserves.

I love bare minerals. I was reluctant to buy at first because I heard it does not have good coverage. I found it has great coverage and I wasn't applying it over and over again. It's so light that I forget that I even have anything on. i will not wear anything else.

I've been wanting to try this product with all the hype about "mineral powders" but was avoiding the original because of the shine factor that I heard about and the bismuth oxychloride that can be irritating.

When the Bare Minerals Matte came out this fall 2009, I was ecstatic! I figured it would be perfect for my combination/oily skin. Off I went down to a US Sephora to pick one up. I've been using it for over a month now.

I'm happy with the color match and the packaging is tidy since it has a spin wheel inside that closes once you're done with it. I like the SPF 15 as well.

But in terms of the daily wear, I don't get the hype. It's not a bad product, but it's not as amazing as I was expecting. I was told that since it was natural, that my skin would have fewer breakouts. Definitely not so! I still have the same amount of breakouts, and this product does not control shine as well as my previous powder foundations (Chanel and Shu Uemura are my go-to brands). I need to blot a TON with this. Coverage is light to moderate, so if you have any flaws, they will still show through unless you do a good job with the concealer.

I don't think it's bad, but it's certainly not amazing. I think I'll go back to my usual brands once I'm done.

I love this foundation. It is a wonderful light powder that goes on smooth and covers very well. It's all natural and if you accidently forget to wash is off at night it does not break your face out. I have lupus and it causes little sores on my face at times and this foundation actually speeds up the healing of these sores. I will never use another liquid foundation again.....or another brand for that matter. Bare Esentuals rule.
