87% OF CHICKS DIG IT
*Price: I give this a 5/5 stars because although it seems a bit pricey, it lasts a very long time. You really do only need a small amount (usually whatever is in the lid) and you're good to go. Mine lasts at least 6 months, if not longer.
*Quality: I give this a 4/5 stars because it is a quality product. The foundation is smooth and doesn't have a funky smell (which some foundations often do). The one downside are the brushes. If you're going to buy this product, I recommend that you buy a different face brush or kabuki brush (depending on how much coverage you want) because the Bare Escentuals brushes, I find, are quite scratchy on my skin.
*Effectiveness: I give this a 5/5 stars because it's actually one of those products that seems to look better as the day wears on. It just seems to melt into my skin. It's great.
-Extra notes: I recommend this only if you're looking for a light to medium coverage. It's definetly NOT for heavy coverage. Make sure to use a moisturizer first, if you're going to use this product. Also, I highly recommend buying the Mineral Veil. It really helps give you that "soft glow" look and helps set the foundation.
I the light kit last year. 2 things that makes me wanted to try it was it's suppose to look like I have nothing on but better and it's suppose got spf 15. It does look very natural but I don't think it covers very well. I started to have minor break out couple of weeks after I start to use this and I couldn't cover them up very well. I also started to get sun spot on my nose. So I am not sure I would buy it again. While I didn't break out it does look very good. I will confess I tried the cover fx mineral one after this and it covers even worse and didn't improve the break out situation. I am on the hunt for the next best thing
absolutely adore this product, but as mentioned below I've noticed my forehead tends to look oily couple hours in. The mineral veil helps out a lot. Or even just oil-blotting sheets. Great coverage and long lasting.
At first I didn't like it because you have to use it a lot in order to acheive light coverage. It is also $$. Then after a while I thought this stuff is great for your skin. It does clog pores and I did notice my complexion was a little better in a short while. Plus it doesn't rub or come off like the knock offs I switched to later. Only draw back was, as I stated before, not much cover. You have to use the smaller brush for heavier applications, but you will run out fast. That brush is for (heavy coverage) coverups. Over all this mineral makeup is the best mineral makeup on the market that I have used. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.
I bought this product because my sister had positive results after using bare minerals. However, when I used this product, I started to break out. It still covers blemishes real well and evens out skin tone, but my face gets oily by the end of the day. I later bought the foundation primer by BE and it leaves my skin oil free and the foundation adheres to my skin a lot better but the foundation still seems to break me out. I've heard a lot of great reviews from friends and family about this product and it is rare that I hear about any negative reviews. It would be best to start off with the starter kit to see if the product works well with your skin. I would still recommend this product because like I said, there are more positive than negative reviews about this product.
I bought this based on the reviews on this website and I'm glad I did. I bought the starter kit for $75 at Sephora that comes with 2 shades of foundation, the mineral veil, warmth and the vitamin face lotion.
The foundation is very light and I hardly feel like I'm wearing anything at all. I like how it comes with the warmth because if I happen to tan in the summer (hasn't happened yet but it could!) I can add it to the foundation for a darker shade. I've tried 2 other mineral foundations before - I forget the first one but it caused me to break out and the other one was L'Oreal. L'Oreal was good but it'd come off easily where as Bare Minerals stays on for pretty much the whole day.
The only complaint I have is that unlike what the lady told me at Sephora, putting the mineral veil under the foundation does not help with the oiliness. My face does get oily more quickly when I wear this compared to when I don't wear any make-up. But that's easy to solve with the oil-absorbing sheets.
Overall this is a very good buy. Especially the starter kit!
This stuff gives good coverage but if you're a face toucher, this will definitely rub off throughout the day as any other powder would; I also find my nose and forehead look oily after a couple hours, but if you have the mineral veil it works great!
I've used this in the past. It's a great product. It definitely works for oily skin. I especially love the mineral veil. I can't leave home without.
This is a very versatile foundation that can be mixed with a moisturizer to become a tinted moisturizer or layered for a full, heavy coverage. It doesn't feel heavy at all and doesn't rub off like other liquid foundations Although Bare Escentuals claims this is for all skin types, I would not recommend this to people with dry skin because it doesn't "hold on" well and can look cakey. Those with combination skin or oily skin will have amazing results!
