It sparked and burnt my furniture

I received this 3 wick candle as a Christmas gift. It says "Relax" right on it and smells wonderful without even having to light it. But I did light it and it sparked and the spark landed on my couch 3 feet away which caused a burn hole which I can't cover. I thought it was just a fluke, so I tried it again and it sparked again onto my coffee which left a burn mark which I will now refinish :/
