I don't often use dry shampoo because although it gets rid of the excess oil, my hair still looks limp and flat. However, the Batiste Heavenly Volume dry shampoo makes my hair look clean and fresh with lots of volume.
This dry shampoo was good for getting your hair to that clean feeling. But in regards to volume I didn't notice any difference. But it smells really good and leaves very little residue
I was one of the lucky gals picked to review the Batiste Dry Shampoo PLUS Heavenly Volume!! I usually wash my hair every other day but it gets greasy quite fast and it is quite noticeable as well so dry shampoo is a great alternative for that "in-between" wash. The great thing about this particular dry shampoo is that it adds volume to my hair as well as eliminates that greasy feeling so it looks like it was washed that morning.
Firstly, the decorative packaging of the dry shampoo bottle is very cute and something that I enjoy leaving and seeing on my bathroom counter. The product itself has a pleasant smell to it that you can slightly detect upon spraying, but which disappears when its in your hair.
I think this dry shampoo is better for light-haired people because it comes out very, very white, especially on my jet black hair. Some of it brushed out of my hair easily, but a good amount showed to be very difficult to brush out. It took me a few minutes to remove all the white stuff from my hair. I don't feel like I sprayed too much on, so that was quite annoying. However, the product did voluminize my hair quite nicely and my hair feels very clean with the product in it.
I absolutely loved this. Extremely cute packaging, great smell, you definitely get your money's worth! I'll buy it again and tell family and friends about it that's for sure!
Was excited to try out my first dry shampoo. I usually wash my hair every other day, so instead of doing that I used this in-between wash days. The smell was a little strong for me, although it was not a bad scent. I didn't notice much of a powdery residue, just slightly since I do have dark (black) hair. It worked well, but not as voluminous as I was hoping for.
I got this product free through ChickAdvisor #gotitfree
I've tried quite a few dry shampoo's, both drugstore and high end, and I like that this one gave the added benefit of volume! Most dry shampoo sprays would claim that they bring volume to the hair, but because this felt like it had hairspray ingredients... it was more voluminous than other dry shampoo's that I've tried. The finish on my hair felt a bit stiff, as if I had put on hairspray, but I didn't mind and rather liked the hold that it gave my hair. This product will definitely be on my repurchase list as it gave my lifeless 2 day hair more life than anything ever has!

For a quick & easy refresh this was a great option!
I used it after a long day at work just before a night on the town & it held my style very nicely without weighing my hair down which other dry shampoos tend to do with my hair. The smell was much less overpowering as others I have tried as well which was really nice. It worked into my dark hair well without being too powdery looking.
Batiste Heavenly Volume dry shampoo offers a refresh and root boost.
I was stoked to give this a try and #gotitfree. My fine hair is always too dry so a dry shampoo to amp up the volume is just what the doctor ordered. It's really easy to use and while it has quite a strong scent when you spray it, it does dissipate and become much more subtle. After working this into the roots of my hair I definitely saw a boost in my roots and volume overall. It looked great all day, and my only criticism is I didn't like feeling the residue in my hair. As for value, compared to other shampoos you get a bigger bottle and it does provide a good refresh to second day hair. Thanks, ChickAdvisor!
I never realized that dry shampoo was a common product until I hit my early 30’s – I guess I was just that clueless. I often used baby powder to get the same effect of absorbing day(s) after wash hair. So, it wasn’t until the last few years until I started trying dry shampoos.
For a little background on my hair: it is thin, straight, flat, and never holds a style. Due to this, normally I wear it up or suck it up and wear it down all boring like. I am always quite skeptical of volumizing hair products simply because they hardly ever work for me, so when I was chosen to review and sent a bottle of the new Batiste Heavenly Volume Dry Shampoo thanks to a ChickAdvisor campaign, I was hoping to find a winner.
The product is packaged in a bright and colourful metal aerosol can. The nozzle is textured on top for a nice grip when spraying and I found (so far) that it has not allowed product to excessively build up and clog from use. This is a scented product, so be aware of that if you normally avoid those. It has a light sweet and powder smell to it, which does linger on your hair.
A concern when using dry shampoos is always the white cast the product leaves when spraying it on your hair. The Batiste Heavenly Volume Dry Shampoo is no exception to this concern. If you have blonde hair, you might not have an issue, but if you’re a brunette, like myself, or any other hair colour, you’re going to notice this. With that being said, you can still work with it and be fine. In fact, I found the only real problem with this (for me), was the amount of static my hair had when using this.
The first time I used this Dry Shampoo, I used it on 2-day hair. It worked well to add a bit of volume while I wore my hair down. I didn’t mess too much with styling or teasing to just see the effect of a small amount. Since my hair wasn’t entirely oily yet, I didn’t notice any cons other than needing to work to make sure the white cast didn’t linger, and that it was slightly staticy.
When this first arrived, I was on day 3 hair (2nd day without washing). There was a white cast, which went away after allowing the product to absorb and working it into the roots. It worked well to add a bit of volume and I loved the amount of oil it absorbed. I didn’t mess too much with styling or teasing to just see the effect of using it. There was volume that stuck around through the day, even without teasing. Overall, it ticked the boxes of volume and oil absorbing; My hair smelled great too!
I normally can go about 2 days after washing and using product before my hair starts to become oily. This time I waited those two days and then used the Batiste Dry Shampoo again. So here we were on day 3 again and I wanted to try keeping my hair down. I could do so but it took quite a while to get my hair manageable. After rubbing the product into my hair after allowing it to absorb oil, I was left with slightly tangled and textured hair, but not in a cute I can leave it this way and be fine kind of way. I had to brush the ends and there was SO MUCH STATIC to my hair! I tried combing the opposite sides ends and same thing. I was forced to use anti-frizz product, which took a lot of the volume back out of my hair, but at least I didn’t look like Cousin It had touched a light socket.
I am torn about this product, but I think I will continue to work with it because I love the volumizing results and have the time to correct the downfalls. I can see myself using this for creating more updos, but when not styling and staying home, I think it will be of benefit as well. I would still recommend it, as my experience might be different to yours, as far as the static goes, which was the only real negative for me. Below is my quick breakdown, as well as some tips.
PROS:
Lovely light and fresh smell
Volume promise fulfilled
CONS:
White cast (workable if you use properly)
Static (perhaps only for certain hair types?)
Scented (downfall for some who don’t like fragranced products)
Tips to remember:
Spray a few inches away from your head
Spray in short bursts
Let the product sit on your hair for 1-2 minutes
Massage into scalp – bonus volume if you flip your head over while doing so
Avoid heavy brushing/combing if possible to retain more volume
