Best makeup sponge there is! No comparing to the beauty blender. I am on my third sponge and will continue to use until my face falls off. I've tried cheaper alternatives but nothing compares!
I decided to splurge on it because of all the reviews I read and watched on youtube. I bought it at sephora for 26$ (I live in Canada). Before buying this, I had the quo makeup blender. Compared to that one, the original beauty blender is really good. I usually only use it for concealer and foundation and the application is flawless and makes my makeup look natural. However, washing it was a pain. I am a neat freak so I had to make it 100% clean. Foundation was always still stuck in it a lot of times so once, I used my nail to get the dirt out. I HIGHLY ADVICE YOU ALL TO NOT DO IT, because it made a small hole in my beauty blender and the next times I washed it, it got very heavy and felt really weird (because the water was easily absorbed through the hole). Later on, I discovered that the original beauty blender makes a cleanser as well. I thought it was a waste of money so I tried washing my sponge with Sunlight's dish soap. IT WORKS WONDERS, I swear it cleans it perfectly.
Overall,
pros: applies makeup flawlessly, very soft
cons: the price, the material is very fragile (referring to the hole I accidentally made)
I don't think of buying another one after this one dies, because I have heard good reviews about the Real techniques makeup sponge, and that one is way cheaper and performs as well as this one (apparentely). Anyway, I hope my review helped! :)
Okay I don't know how I EVER applied foundation before I found out about this little treat!! Who knew a 25$ sponge could be so wonderful but honestly it's worth every penny! Love it, if you don't have one..buy one
I will never go back to using another sponge again. I used to use the disposable triangle sponges and then bought some of the knock off versions of the beauty blender as I couldn't bring myself to spend $26 on a sponge but then a fiend gave it to me as a gift and now I will never go back. First off its more work then the disposable sponges, you have to wet it with each use and clean it regularly (they sell a solid and liquid soap for it which is very good but can be costly so you can also use baby shampoo or a mild soap). Also you need to make sure to let it dry out in the because if you put in inside something it will trap the moisture in and cause mold (this happened to my first one). This may seem like a lot of work for a makeup sponge but its totally worth it, if you take care of it, it can last a long time. I use a foundation brush to apply my foundation all over my face and then the sponge to stipple the foundation into my skin. I also use it for nights where I am going out and adding a cream contour. The sponge leaves my skin looking flawless and airbrushed so much so that when you take a picture with an HD camera you still manage to look poreless. I now buy this as a birthday gift for all of my girl friends and have slowly converted all of them.
Overpriced, and goes moldy very fast and the color runs when washed. not a high quality product. there are much better spongers that provide the same effect but are way cheaper
Tried this product due to all the high raves, and have got to say they were correct. This thing makes your foundation flawless. also you only need to use half of the foundation you normally use. BONUS!! The price is expensive at about $30 but I will say well worth the investment. The one downside I will say is that it can be a bit hard to clean and i sometimes feel that there is still some makeup residue left on it. I have actually bout this product twice now. I found they last about 3-4 months.
This little sponge is the answer to my prayers. Without it, I would never be able to get foundation to lay smoothly on my dry skin. It is a little on the spendy side, but I have not tried a "dupe" that could compare.
Before getting a beauty blender, I tried cosmetic wedges and imitation sponges for a while. Both were decent, but in comparison to the beauty blender, I think there's a noticeable difference in makeup application. It really blends your makeup nicely, leaving you with a very natural finish (as opposed to blending with a brush). The only reasons I've stopped using it is because I find that it soaks up a lot of the product, in the process of making your makeup look natural. I also find that there's a higher maintenance when using the beauty blender - need to wash it more often, also harder to wash compared to brushes. I think there's a need to replace your beauty blenders because of all the germs that grow inside and how worn-down it can get, which is why I stick to my foundation brushes. Otherwise, I think it's a great product.
Love this so so much but if you're gonna get one make sure to be gentle with it when washing it because it can rip easily if you rub it hard or if you scratch it.
I have a love hate relationship with this. I was so excited the first time I ever ordered one, and instantly fell Inlove with it the first time I used it. I followed the instructions and stored it the way the little instruction paper that came with it said. But within a few week, it started to grow mould. I emailed the company, and got terrible customer service. I had toe buy a new one, and I hummed and hawed because it's not something that priced well that you don't mind everytime it goes mouldy, you will just buy a new one. But I did order another and have been storing it differently, and so far, no mould. But I think I'm going to try the real techniques one next.
