The description states that is has a satin finish but it's non-greasy. I feel it adds a soft glow to the skin, yet still maintains a semi-matte finish. A small amount of product goes a long way in concealing flawlessly but it's completely buildable if you need more coverage. It does not cake, peel or melt off and lasts over eight hours and even longer with a really good primer. If your skin is on the dry side, you might want to consider using a decent primer or moisturizer. The best feature for me of course is finding a perfect matching shade for my skin tone. Shell is a fair beige neutral but I would call it a neutral porcelain, beige pigments are usually darker or contain a lot of red pigments. This is perfect for light or fair yellow based skin tones. I LOVE it!
