I use this with pretty much everything, not kidding.
Its a great price and goes great with everything, whether its on its own, or you're cooking with it.
Although I prefer butter to this margarine when used on toast or bagels, this is great to use in baking when a recipe calls for "softened butter", and you don't have time to leave out the butter long enough for it to get sufficiently soft. Actually, it might be even better, because most people, when I ask if they can tell the difference between a cake, muffin, cupcake, etc... using real butter or using this Becel margarine, they really can't. Plus, this is so much cheaper than butter!
BUT! I still buy regular butter for my toast, making scones, making biscuits or when you need to make croissants. There is no way you can use margarine to make croissants!
I definitely prefer butter but this is a pretty good quality margarine. It tastes really good and obviously it spreads on bread like nobody's business!
In lieu of butter this is a good tasting alternative and spreads easily on bread, pancakes and waffles. A large tub usually lasts for half a year as we try not to use it too often. I would still prefer butter and would not cook with it.
This is a very good margarine to use. It has no trans fat, so it is great to prevent heart disease. It also tastes good, and works well in recipes instead of butter
Becel margarine has been a constant fixture in my fridge since childhood. It is all I buy for a sandwich spread (I use something different for baking). It tastes so good on tea biscuits, buns and raisin toast. My favorite part of Becel is that it spreads so smoothly straight from the fridge. The price, like just about everything these days, has gone up significantly. It's best to wait for a sale or watch for coupons.
I do like this margarine. I do like the flavor.
The thing I like the most about this product, in comparison to butter,
is that fact that it is always spreadable!
This is not butter, nor it should really be expected to taste like butter. As an enhancer for dry foods or things that need a bit of a fatty kick, this would work. It is quite a bit less expensive than butter, so it can work for things where the margarine's flavour is not the main focus. However, for baking or foods that require a butter flavour, this is not a substitute. For those who have dairy allergies, this is not an alternative either because of the presence of milk products. As is, it is okay.
This is the only margarine in our fridge. It tastes great on anything and in anything. Great price and tastes like butter. I even bake with this stuff. Great product.
A good alternative to butter. It's always worked well in baking recipes and doesn't make my toasted products soggy like some other margarines.
