nice alternative

i received this product for free to test.
I enjoyed using this product. I have used it on numerous applications - as a spread on toast and as part of my pizza dough.

As a spread on toast, it had identical taste as my regular margarine.
As an ingredient in my homemade pizza dough, it did not alter the taste or consistency in my dough.

I thoroughly enjoyed using it in both applications, however, I dont know if i would purchase it over the other stuff I use, based on $$.

Alright for some things

I received the New Becel Plant-based Salted 'Butter' from familyrated & chickadvisor in exchange for my honest review.

I have never tried plant-based 'butter' before. I was surprised that it looked just like butter! It is very easy to spread it. The consistency is like regular butter but a bit softer. Not sure if really tasted like butter per say as I tried it just on toast and it was okay. I think I’ll probably just stick to butter for the few things I use it with and regular margarine as this seems a bit expensive compared to my normal margarine. This might be good for baking though. Overall it wasn’t disappointing nor extremely great.

Easy

Becel salted plant base blocks are so much easier to use when following a recipe, the blocks are marked on the package of 1/4 cup and in oz. And the taste is amazing. Going to purchase more. love it.

Makes cooking/baking so easy!

This product makes it so much easier when you are baking and cooking. And Al's a lot less messier when you're not having to use a cup to even it out! I will definitely be a frequent purchase for my house hold.

Surprisingly tasty

I received a coupon for a free brick of Becel salted plant based margarine. I decided to experiment using it on corn on the cob. My husband and I both enjoyed the corn. The margarine had the color of butter, the consistency of butter that was spreadable from the fridge. The flavor was just like butter.
I will purchase this product again, may even replace what I am using now

Better than I expected

I am a butter user. So I was hesitant to try it. But the next time I wanted to make cookies I thought it was a good time to test it. My chocolate chip cookies came out flat and crisp, not chewy like usual but flavour was ok. So meh for cookies.
But then I needed butter for an ermine buttercream icing i wanted to make and thought I'd try it again. Buttercream. It was excellent. Whipped up beautifully and flavour was still subtle. Had a buttery mouthfeel not oily. Very surprised.
I left the last bit out in the butter dish and it got used by me and the rest if family without any of us even knowing it wasn't butter.
So unless I'm making cookies I would definitely use the Becel bricks in the future.

margarine Becel en brique

j'ai eu la chance de tester la nouvelle margarine en brique de Becel et j'étais très satisfaite.
même si elle était à la base salée, j'ai préparé avec un gâteau et incognito au gout.
mes tchareks étaient super bons, ils fondaient en bouche.
facile a utiliser et donne un bon goût.
je rachèterai sûrement et je le recommande fortement.

Just like butter!

I really felt enjoyed this plant based butter substitute. The company wrapped it just like a real butter stick! The colour was whiter than regular butter but close in colour. The product spread well and melted nicely. I chose the salty kind Because I love salted butter on toast. My 6 year old son does as well. He did not notice a difference Im the switch from normal salted butter to plant based salted. I made fried eggs in my frying pan. Using this to substitute for butter worked like a charm

I received this product to try and i was kind of skeptical at first. I've always used the same brand and type of product when baking so this was a different experience for me.
I am happy to say that I was shocked. Despite the texture being a little different everything else was the same. The cake I baked came out the exact same way it always did and there was no way of knowing the difference.
I will most definitely be buying this product again to use in the future.
