We love it!

I love this product! I use it in place of all the things that I'd normally use butter for. It's a great alternative for those who want to avoid dairy. It tastes great and I use it whenever I'm baking. I especially like that I don't have to soften it for recipes like i do with butter as it's ready to go for my baking recipes when i take it out of the fridge as it's much softer than butter. You cannot tell any difference in my recipes between using this product or using butter. Such a great alternative!

Just like real butter !

I was pleasantly surprised with this plant-based butter when I tried this free sample. I usually buy Becel for margarine, but I believe they achieve a smooth transition to butter. The texture is nice and smooth. It is nicely salted, not too much. The color is exactly like that of butter, same for the texture. It has the same nutrition as regular butter, e.g. calories, fat, cholesterol, sodium. I think I actually prefer their butter over their margarine. The latter leaves a oily aftertaste in my mouth and is a bit too salty, whereas the plant-based is not too salty and does not leave an odd aftertaste. It is awesome that it spreads easily and without hassle on food even when cold, which has always been a frustrating fact with regular butter. The only part that I did not enjoy has much is the fact that when left out at room temperature, it starts having a texture similar to that of margarine.

I am now able to enjoy a butter-like product without the guilt that it is animal based. My family agrees that it is a good product and that it tastes just like butter. By curiosity, I did a taste test with my husband and he could not tell the difference between real butter and plant-based butter! It definitely has made enjoyable toast and butter. Would buy again, especially if it is on sale at the grocery store ! 😁

Great butter

The Becel Salted Plant based Butter is amazing. I couldn't tell the difference between it and another salted butter.

I used it to bake some cream bars. The bars came out light and fluffy, almost like shortbread.

I also used the Slated Plant based butter on some baked potatoes. It melts nicely.

I am looking forward to making some popcorn and drizzling the Becel Plant based Butter all over it!

Wow Becel plant based bricks salted

J’ai été sélectionnée pour essayer ce produit Becel plant based bricks salé. Au début, j’avoue que j’étais très septique en regard du gout que ce beurre pouvait avoir.Franchement,j’ai été surprise que le gout soit pareil je ne pouvais pas voir la difference. J’ai fais des biscuits un cheesecake et wow personne de ma famille n’a vu la différence. J’ai aussi essayé ce produit pour faire cuire mes légumes a la poêle. Même chose que mon beurre habituelle. Donc, je ne vois aucune raison de ne pas utiliser ce beurre végétal.A l’avenir, je vais définitivement remplaçer mon beurre habituel par celui ci. J’ai été ravie d’essayer et maintenant d’adopter Becel végétal. Je le recommande a tous, vous ne serez pas déçu. Merci chickadvisor et Becel de m’avoir fait essayer ce produit.

Great consistency for plant-based

Used it in my chocolate chip cookies and tasted as delicious as usual! Love that you can’t tell a difference even though it’s plant based and is a great alternative for all butter lovers out there👌🏼

I loved cooking and baking with this product. It was easy to measure and cut. It left an incredible flavour on my food. This brand exceeded my expectations for a plant-based product. I’d encourage everyone to try it. You will be glad you did!

Taste great!

I was excited to try this plant based butter. I have many people in my life that are either vegan, vegetarian, or have other dietary restrictions. They were very interested to see how I liked this butter and how much it resembled regular butter. The flavor is just about the same, my only con would be I fell i had to add more butter to my pan on order to sautee my onions and garlic for my fried rice. Other than that, I had zero issues. It taste great and I am excited to use it in my baking as well.

Delicious!

I was selected to try the BECEL SALTED PLANT BASED BRICKS for free from Family Rated in exchange for my honest opinion and I was amazed at my inability to differentiate it from butter! We are trying to eat more plant based foods in our household so this butter substitution made from plant based oils was a welcome addition to our fridge!

With no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours and the fact that it is vegan and gluten free, I think this is a delicious butter substitute that would fit well into just about anyone's lifestyle and dietary needs! We used the butter to make chocolate chip cookies and can testify that the plant based bricks truly do taste, cook, and bake like your normal dairy butter. We simply substituted this plant based substitute in our cookie recipe 1:1 while leaving everything else the same and they came out perfect and delicious!

We have also tried sautéing mushrooms and peppers, and making an alfredo cream sauce for pasta and all of our dishes came out as normal, if not better! The Becel Salted Plant Based Bricks are a great way to start introducing or continuing to use plant based products in your lifestyle and I will be purchasing these again in the future. I love that I was able to find them in convenient 1/2 cup sticks which makes baking and cooking that much easier. If you are looking to incorporate more plant based items in your cooking I highly suggest you start with these... you won't be able to spot the difference!

Healthy alternative!

I got this for free in exchange for an honest review.

I used this to spread on toast and made banana bread with it. With the toast it spreads the same as butter. There is a slight difference in taste but not very noticable when paired with something. Texture wise is about the same, maybe a bit softer than dairy butter. Visually you can't tell that this is an all vegan butter. My kids enjoyed their buttered toast and I'm glad that this is a healthy alternative for them.

Using it to make banana bread yields the same result. No difference in taste or how it turned out.

Price point wise, I am surprised it is cheaper than the regular salted dairy butter I typically purchase. Since this is a cheaper and healthier option, I will gladly make the switch to this butter for my family moving forward.

Hooray for a viable alternative!

I want to start by saying that we love butter and I can't see us fully swapping it for margarine. That being said, we would choose Becel bricks if we ever did make the switch!
I tested this in some our favourite ways to use butter: for baking, spreading and cooking. I made a batch of our favourite cookies with the Becel, and we loved them just the same. The taste and texture were virtually identical to our regular recipe made with butter. We also used it to top waffles, spread on toast, and prepare our grilled cheese sandwiches; each without any discernible difference in flavour! Lastly, I used it to lubricate various pans for frying eggs and potatoes. With liberal use, it worked just as well as butter and, in one pan, even better than olive oil.
The first time I used the Becel Plant-based brick, I spread it on toast and licked it off my butter knife. I did not like the mouth-feel; I found it more oily than butter. I did enjoy the taste of it on my toast, however. My favourite feature of margarine compared to butter it the out-of-the-fridge spreadability. The Becel bricks did not disappoint in this way.
I will definitely purchase this again. As a matter of fact, I can see myself keeping it on hand. It is a great alternative to butter, and more cost-efficient, too! And - bonus! - it's suitable for vegan applications, which we dabble in.
