Becel plant based bricks

I got to test BECEL UNSALTED PLANT-BASED BRICKS through the Family Rated Club. My kids and I decided to make some fudgey brownies. We replaced the butter in the recipe with Becel unsalted plant based bricks. I am happy to report the brownies turned out great- crispy on the outside with a soft chewy centre. I prefer butter slightly to these bricks but it would be a great vegan and dairy free option. I would purchase this product again!

Unable to review product

I was very excited to try the Becel plant-based bricks when I first learned about it through this campaign. Unfortunately, given the Covid-19 situation, I have been isolating and was not able to go to as many stores in order to locate this product. The couple of stores that I did try did not carry this product. I had notified of the concerns i had trying to redeem a coupon during Covid-19, but the campaign has not been removed from my board, and I am getting emails to complete it, so this is what I can do.

I have given an average review of 3 on taste and quality as I can not properly assess.

I have given a 5-star for value because the price of this product is pretty well the same as regular butter. In my opinion, it could be priced higher given the additional benefits it offers (vegan, dairy-free).

I think the Becel plant-based bricks are a truly unique product that I will try in the future.

I like that this product is vegan and dairy-free and still cooks like regular butter. It has 25% less saturated fat than butter.

I am curious to see how well it spreads on bread.

Great substitude for vegetarians

I like to try new products so I tried new Becel unsalted plant based spread.
It looks like a butter and even taste like the butter but has some weird aftertaste.
This spread spread easily over the bread. But I like to bake cookies with it, they turning out perfectly.
This spread is dairy free, gluten free and vegan. So I recommend it to people on the diet and with allergies.
I personally will not buy it as I am avoiding palm oil and canola oil in my diet.

Better than butter

i was pleasantly surprised by the taste and texture of this becel. I am not tyoically fond of plant based food items but it was as good as the original or better.

Great substitute!

I was given this product to try and asked to give my honest review. This product was something I was skeptical about as we don’t use plant based products. I loved how you could barely tell the difference. It did however make a difference in my making as the final product didn’t come out the same. We are trying more plant based products and this one is definitely I would recommend to beginners and experienced people as well. Over all good product and well priced!

My new favorite butter alternative

I found Becel plant based product to be a wonderful alternative to butter. I used it on toast, baking, sauteing and even on popcorn! It made me feel great that I was using an alternative to butter and it tasted great!so much healthier and much easier to digest. I highly recommend this product!

GREAT TASTE

I found the Becel unsalted plant-based butter style brick to be very versatile and tasty. I used it on toast, for baking and in ingredients that I’ve made including pastor. I did not find it very greasy and I found it quite easy to use. I found mine at save on foods with my free coupon and I did buy the brick not the individual packages. I would recommend this to others. #delicious

Good block and easy to use

Easy for chopping and baking. I received my voucher after the submission deadline but was able to find it at save on foods. I used this for baking and found it easy like using sticks of butter. Taste is good and the cookies i made were softer because of the colder and harder margarine. I like the plant-based component as a healthier option.
