Tastes Great
I receieved this as a free product to try from ChickAdvisor.
I am generally a big fan of nuts and chocolate ice cream and so when I saw this flavour I knew I had to try it. The chocolate ice cream itself tastes really good but the added fudge pieces gives it that extra flavour. In terms of the value, I think it is a bit pricy considering how small the container is but would still re-purchase.
Great alternative, but can be sweet
FINALLY! It was about time Ben and Jerry's hopped on board the dairy free train! I got the Coconut Almond Fudge Chip because it sounded like a great alternative to chocolate chip, but with a twist. As the name sounds, it's a coconut milk based frozen dessert with slivers of almonds and chocolate chips. The almond slivers are so thin that I initially thought they were coconut flakes - oops! - while the chocolate chips can be quite large. They both give great texture to the frozen dessert, but I wish they evened out the ratios a bit better. Surprisingly, this ice cream tastes very sweet and has 25g of sugar per serving which isn't much less compared to the 28g that the "The Tonight Dough" ice cream does.
So just keep in mind that yes, it is a great dairy free alternative, but it's still a dessert and not necessarily a healthier option.

My previous review said it's a coconut milk based frozen dessert, but it's actually water based with coconut oil!
Loved this product
Great taste and quality, will buy this product again. My kids loved this flavour! My only complaint is that I wish it came in a bigger tub. I’m excited to try the other new flavours.
Delicious Alternative
As someone who is lactose-intolerant, this product was promising. I looooove Ben & Jerry's ice cream, but the cream part doesn't love me back so the dairy free ice cream is the next best thing. I liked how it felt heavier and creamier than a frozen yogurt or sorbet without the actual heavy cream. The coconut didn't taste particularity natural (which is to be expected) but the chocolate and almond flavors are awesome! The price is still on the higher side for a smaller container of the non-dairy ice cream - but as it isn't a product I will be going through super quickly, it isn't too much of a problem.
Delicieux !
Great taste but pricey.
I had the opportunity to try the new Ben & Jerry's Non-Dairy Coconut Almond Fudge Chip ice cream thanks to Chickadvisor and Ben & Jerry's (received the product for free). This particular flavour was hard to find in many of the grocery stores but I was finally able to find it at Wal-Mart.
At $7.47 for a 500mL tub, I find it to be a bit pricey. However, it was the perfect treat on a sunny day! I tried this along with some family members and we all loved the coconut and almond mix, the fudge chips were a little hard to eat as they were big chunks and frozen - I think soft fudge/brownie pieces would've been a better combo. Nevertheless, it was a good experience and loved the non-dairy aspect.
Loved this non-dairy ice cream!
I finally got to try this non-dairy ice cream and I loved it! I received it free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club.
The coconut taste was creamy and delicious, and combined with the chocolate chunks and almond pieces, it was heavenly. I would normally not gravitate to a non-dairy Ice cream, nor for coconut flavoured ice cream, but this combination was spot on.
I think this will be my new go to flavour this summer, as it is light and refreshing. It will be a bonus for when we have guests that are lactose intolerant as well.
I highly recommend trying this! The only negative is the cost - definitely get it when it’s on sale.
Tasty product -- too many calories
I was very happy to have been selected by Chickadvisor to try out one of Ben & Jerry's newest non-dairy flavours -- Coconut Almond Fudge Chip! I love anything and everything coconut and this definitely hit the spot. The coconut flavour is subtle, which is nice because then you can taste the almond slivers and gigantic fudge chunks. I was initially worried about the consistency of the non-diary ice cream because I've had others in the past which were quite hard. I placed this tub in an area of my freezer that typically keeps regular ice cream at a soft, scoopable level, and this stuff was rock solid. I would recommend leaving on the counter so you can chisel some out. As for the mouth-feel of the product, if you didn't tell me it was non-diary, I wouldn't have been able to tell. I found it to be quite creamy when melted and it didn't have any off flavour.
Overall, would I purchase this again? No. The taste was delicious, but I can't justify the calories or cost. At 280 calories per 1/2 cup serving, it's outrageous because that amount of calories is a meal for me. Also, I can't justify paying such an astronomical price for what is essentially sugar water with coconut oil. I know Ben & Jerry's is ~fancy~ ice cream, but I just can't justify it when there are many homemade, healthier alternatives for people like me who avoid dairy for either personal or medical reasons.
Texture is great, taste is a bit off
I received this item courtesy of a coupon from the Chickadvisor Product Review Club. I think this is a great option if you are lactose intolerant, however, if you are used to regular ice cream, you'll notice that the taste is a bit off immediately that the dairy is missing. It tastes a bit like watered down coconut drink. Almond chunks are fine, nothing unexpected there. I also feel like the ice cream melts slower than regular ice cream. The fudge is also extremely soft, mobile and tacky - I don't think I've every had ice cream where the fudge is like this (can be a good or bad thing depending on your preference for fudge in ice cream.) The ice cream is also the same price as a typical pint of Ben and Jerry's. Given that I'm not lactose intolerant, I'm not sure that I would repurchase this, as the taste is a bit off an affects how much I enjoy the ice cream, but it is a great option for those who are lactose intolerant. They certainly got the texture right.
