this is an average lid primer. i like the fact that it's yellow -- does a great job of neutralizing any discoloration on the eye, and a little goes a long way. however i do find that this creases almost instantly. the max i can get it to last is a few hours. it works well with too faced shadow insurancce/udpp, but why spend $20 on a product to spend another $20 on another product to make it work? the only real use i can see this for is neutralizing discoloration. i'll continue to use this for everyday use just to finish it, but won't repurchase.
I have heard many women tout the wonders of this product, and finally gave in and purchased it while it was on sale. Lemon Aid is not an eyelid primer for eye-shadows. Instead, it corrects the colour of the eyelid by camouflaging redness, splotches, and other minor skin issues.
I find that Lemon Aid does work in concealing redness for my eyelids. It is also useful to brighten any dark areas on the face, such as the corners of the inner canthus. However, I am unhappy with the texture. It is oily, even greasy to the touch. Furthermore, it creases a bit on the upper eyelid and even under the eyes. I feel that if the amount of mineral oil would be reduced, the overall texture would be much more improved. As a result, I usually have to dust the upper eyelids to halt creasing, either with a light eye shadow or face powder. It is not a product that one can really wear on its own.
Thanks ChickAdvisor for the free item! I’ve used the colour aid a few times and thought it was okay. The yellow colour really blends well and leaves a light feeling on my eyelid. It almost had a chalky texture after rubbing it on to my eyelids, which I consider to be a good thing. The physical compact is well made and I like the mini mirror at the top.
Although, I don’t know if it made a big difference to my overall appearance. My eye shadow did last longer, but I don’t see myself using it on a daily basis because it didn’t make that big of an impact. If you put a little big of foundation on your eyelids it has the same effect if you’re looking to create an even colour tone to your skin. Overall, it’s a nice to have but not something I see myself buying going forward.
This is a great two-in-one product. I used it as a base to correct eyelid cover and then to make the eyeshadow on to last longer. It is also a nice shade on its own for a more natural look. What really adds to this product is the convenient compact it comes in, with a small mirror, making it a great make-up to carry in your purse for quick touch-ups.
I've never used a colour correcting eyelid primer before, so I was really looking forward to reviewing this product when I received it in a gift bag. I turned over the package to review the ingredients and immediately fell disappointed, I knew I wasn't going to be able to actually try this product which was a huge letdown.
The 6th ingredient in the product is Mineral Oil....I don't DO mineral oil. Mineral Oil is a cheap, cheap filler product that doesn't do anything healthy for your.skin It sits on your skin and doesn't allow it to breath. Basically it suffocates the skin by coating it with a film. Most people have their first concerns with aging around the eye area. The skin is very delicate around that area (think tissue paper delicate) and putting a crappy product around your eyes is just going to "speed" up any aging you see in that area. I would recommend you look at the ingredient listing for the rest of your skin care and makeup products and chuck anything with Mineral Oil!
I like this product, and then i also dont.. i actualy use it not just on my eye lids but also under my eyes for my dark circles. It works great for covering dark circlesand discoloration, as long as you put some foundation or powder in your skin tone on top, and it actualy keeps the dark circles and discoloration hidden all day which is what i really like. The one thing i dont like about it is its really thick and when i put it on my eyelids, they feel heavy and almost gressy.
