I have oily eyelids. I've tried numerous primers with so-called promises. The best I have come up with is to just use a pressed/powder foundation (the one I use is from MAC) directly on my eyelids prior to putting on eyeshadow. This has served me pretty well since I have spent a lot of $$$ on other products that didn't work.
I wished I would have known about this years ago. This really DOES work. I will say this though, it doesn't take much. I made the mistake of thinking more was going to be better. No, more is NOT the answer. So I plead with those excessive product-people, put the brush down after a few strokes on the product. Just be calm and use it sparingly and it will serve you well. Lemon Aid to the RESCUE!!

I have severe dark circles and have tried many products, I use this “Lemon aid” under “Benefit Boing” to help me look refreshed.

Works kind of like a highlighter *double-duty product*

the one major issue I have with this product is the fact that I find it gets cakey, I find that it is almost like it just bunches up under my eyes, I have tried several different colour correctors and find that this one I can see under my foundation, it makes me look more sick than I am. I am just not happy with it!

I can also say that I used it on my eyelids and found that it creases a lot! I was just reading someone elses review and I have to say I agree that the texture is thick and have found that it is oily/greasy to the touch. I found that it smears and creases a lot and I am defiantley not able to wear it alone with no other makeup. I find it frustrating to work with and it's hard to describe but the best way I can is that it basically just sits on top of the skin, so it tends to crease any eyeshadow that I put on top of it. There are several other products that are in the same price range that I have found to be a lot easier to work with and give me the results that I am looking for!

this is an average lid primer. i like the fact that it's yellow -- does a great job of neutralizing any discoloration on the eye, and a little goes a long way. however i do find that this creases almost instantly. the max i can get it to last is a few hours. it works well with too faced shadow insurancce/udpp, but why spend $20 on a product to spend another $20 on another product to make it work? the only real use i can see this for is neutralizing discoloration. i'll continue to use this for everyday use just to finish it, but won't repurchase.

Really hides any imperfections on the lid and also helps my shadows stay and look more vibrant.

I have heard many women tout the wonders of this product, and finally gave in and purchased it while it was on sale. Lemon Aid is not an eyelid primer for eye-shadows. Instead, it corrects the colour of the eyelid by camouflaging redness, splotches, and other minor skin issues.

I find that Lemon Aid does work in concealing redness for my eyelids. It is also useful to brighten any dark areas on the face, such as the corners of the inner canthus. However, I am unhappy with the texture. It is oily, even greasy to the touch. Furthermore, it creases a bit on the upper eyelid and even under the eyes. I feel that if the amount of mineral oil would be reduced, the overall texture would be much more improved. As a result, I usually have to dust the upper eyelids to halt creasing, either with a light eye shadow or face powder. It is not a product that one can really wear on its own.

I’m still not sure what this product is supposed to do. I tried using it as a primer, alone; just to even out my darker eyelids. The formula is weird, very thick; I had trouble applying it evenly and I noticed it creased throughout the day. It creased worse than my foundation or concealer. It didn’t provide much coverage either, nor did it even out my eyelids nicely.

This is my first eyelid primer, so I had no idea what to expect. Turns out, I had no idea what I was missing.

    Creasing/bleeding - substantially improved
Colour payoff on my favourite shadows - also greatly improved

I even like this base colour enough to wear almost by itself (disclaimer: I have pale skin and green eyes, so it's a close match right there) with a little liner and mascara.

Although I received this product free to review from Benefit, I will pick up a new package when this runs out. I recommend it!

I received a PR sample from ChickAdvisor. I've always been an eyeshadow primer kind of person, so i'm always opened to new primers. I've seen lemon aid around for quite a while now but never really tried it. When i received it, i was excited to try it. The texture seems more 'oily' and slippery than my usual mac paint pot. It's very yellow in the pot but turns more nude/skin tone after you rub it on. Although i usually have eyeshadow on and don't need to cancel my redness, it do notice that my lids is less red and doesn't have that blue-ish tone to it. So that's a plus. It spreads really easily and i find that the best is too use only a tiny bit or else it'll slide and crease. In terms of stay power/eye primer. It works pretty average. It keeps the shadow in place, and slightly intensify the color of the eyeshadow. Overall, if you're looking to test out a primer, this is a good choice, but keep in mind that there are a lot of other options out there so you really have to see what you're looking for. In terms of cancelling redness and neutralizing the eyelid area, this is a good choice.

Thanks ChickAdvisor for the free item! I’ve used the colour aid a few times and thought it was okay. The yellow colour really blends well and leaves a light feeling on my eyelid. It almost had a chalky texture after rubbing it on to my eyelids, which I consider to be a good thing. The physical compact is well made and I like the mini mirror at the top.

Although, I don’t know if it made a big difference to my overall appearance. My eye shadow did last longer, but I don’t see myself using it on a daily basis because it didn’t make that big of an impact. If you put a little big of foundation on your eyelids it has the same effect if you’re looking to create an even colour tone to your skin. Overall, it’s a nice to have but not something I see myself buying going forward.
