Not loving it, not likely to purchase again
I bought these on sale, and they were still sort of pricey in my opinion. The flavours looked good, and I am always up for trying new products especially easy single serve options!
I found the texture weird, the taste was only ok, and for the price it simply wasn't worth it. I would prefer to make a simple mug cake from scratch.
Do not recommend.
Too Sweet!
We recently tried these and I thought that it was way too sweet! It felt like I was just eating "sugar" out of a bag! I wouldn't buy this again. Just tried it once but I didn't really like the taste and did not enjoy this.
Betty Crocker Mug Cake
I recently decided to try out Betty Crocker's Mug Cake. I purchased the Chocolate Peanut Butter variety, as I have a HUGE peanut butter fan in the household. Sadly, neither of us care too much for the taste of the cake itself. There isn't enough chocolate flavor. The cake itself, also doesn't rise as high in your mug, as the packaging suggests, Even the peanut butter "icing" takes FOREVER to come out of its "icing sleeve".
All that being said, I would buy another variety of Betty Crocker's Mug Cake, (to see how it tasted/performed) before writing this brand's version of a Mug Cake off entirely.
Not a very good mug cake
A few brands have recently come out with mug cake mixes and I have been trying them all, as they are such a great idea for a quick snack to satisfy a sweet tooth.
Betty Crocker's Confetti mug cake was the first one that I tried and I was pretty disappointed. It had a very strong eggy smell when I took it out of the microwave and it really wasn't pretty.
The icing was the yummy Betty Crocker icing that we are all familiar with, and it helped to cover the taste of the actual cake. I was not a fan of how the cake turned out, it tasted as eggy as it smelled and it didn't have any recognizable flavour.
I would pass on this mug cake and try Duncan Hines' offerings instead.
