I've been using this product on my stretchmarks for a few months now and it works great ! I had very deep marks on my stomach , arms and legs due to extreme weight loss and was really self conscious about them . Thanks to Bio oil my stretchmarks are hardly noticeable now .
I have this. It does help if you use it daily for a long time. I find it leaves my face greasy,as the scar I was using it for us on my face.
I love this product. A little goes a long way. It really does an amzaing job on scars, dry skin and etc. you don't need to use alot of it but everyday use and you will see a difference.
I like this product but I don't think I really need to use it as a lot of moisturizers provide similar effect. It does work well though - I just think coconut oil or other simple moisturizers work the same.
Bio-Oil features a unique combination of plant extracts (calendula, lavender, rosemary, chamomile oil) and vitamins A & E suspended in an oil base and contains a breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil™. Its lightweight, non-greasy formula ensures that the beneficial ingredients are fully and easily absorbed into the skin. Its moisturizing properties have the ability to lock in moisture making it the perfect all-over face and body moisturizer. It has a quick absorbing formula that is fully absorbed within 15 minutes. Although it is an oil, it doesn’t feel heavy, greasy or oily on the skin or hair. It has a slight spicy scent, reminds me of gingerbread cookies that linger on the skin and hair for about an hour
There are endless ways of using this oil besides just on stretch marks. Apply a small drop to the palms of hands to help soften dry, cracked, rough skin. It can be used as an all over body oil to instantly rehydrated and add a ton of moisture back into the skin. It can be mixed in with your favourite body lotion to provide added benefits, while leaving the skin soft and plump. Add a few drops to your nails and cuticles to help condition them for healthier looking nails (it also seems to make them grow quicker)? Add a few drops to running bath water for smoother, softer skin while soaking in the tub. It also works beautifully as a shaving oil for a closer, smoother shave. It also can be used as a makeup remover and does an excellent job at removing water-proof mascara, just be careful not to get into your eyes. It works wonderfully as a lip exfoliate to help moisturized dry, chapped lips. It also helps to relieve itchiness while soothing the skin. Finally, it can be used to soften split ends, help reduce frizz and control flyaways. Just apply a small amount to the ends of the hair after shampooing
I'm truly undecided about this product, even though I have friends and family who swear by it. During pregnancy I used it, but for the price and quantity I started using Cocoa Butter based products, which I found just as effective, didn't rub off as fast, last longer and was more cost effective. I like the smell of the product, it does work to create softness, but personally, I find there are other just as effective products that are better priced.
Unless you have a very specific use for it or have dry/dehydrated skin, I'd skip it. If you facial skin can tolerate an oil, this is light, glides on and smells nice. I like the light texture of this oil - and would use it on my body - but it's expensive as a general body oil. The ingredients are meant to target marks and uneven skin tone... but over months of use 2x a day. I didn't use it for months because I'm prone to breakouts, so I can't attest to how this works. Here's what I really like - I love this as a barrier in cold weather against cold and wind burn - before sunscreen on my skin, I'm using is with a face-LED light device to create a little 'glide', and I love the smell. Reminds me of baby-powder and being a kid.
This is great for keeping your hands/nails moisturized. However, I used it in pregnancy and it did absolutely nothing for me. I am a a petite 93lb girl and my tummy got absolutely massive during pregnancy to the point where I could not control all the scratching of my stomach as the skin was stretched beyond capacity! I got bad blisters and the only thing that relieved it was vitamin E oil.
As advertised I didn't find any effect on stretch marks, age spots or tone of my skin. It's a decent moisturizer for relieving the itch of eczema, but doesn't actually stop the flaking in my case. I might try and store brand of it next as I don't mind it on my legs in the winter, and maybe the store brand won't have that weird smell.
I got this for my stretch marks while I was pregnant. While I was a little late in starting to use it, it helped manage my stretch marks and kept them from getting any worse. Now, after my pregnancy, I can see a vast improvement them - they aren't as dark, the aren't itchy - and it smells amazing and feels luxurious when you apply it!
