Not for me!
I picked up the trial size from Shoppers Drugmart for around $3 to give it a try.
Packaging: it’s cute and it did draw me in.
Scent - Far too strong for me, it’s a mentholated fragrance and I felt that was more to support the “charcoal” claim and make it more effective.
Product Appearance: It’s grey/black in colour with some grainy texture type beads or dots and kind of gel like; but to be honest I feel like this is a jump on the charcoal bandwagon trend.
Efficacy: It cleans my face but the menthol is so strong (and I do NOT have sensitive skin and look for powerful products) and definitely not fun if you get it in your eyes by accident!
It’s intended for oily skin (and oil-free) admittedly I have dry skin (I didn’t see the small print about oily skin when I bought it online lol) but even then, the overpowering scent and too strong feeling on my face/when water washed some over my face into my eyes in the shower had them stinging and overrode any benefit for me.
Overall: I would not buy this again and don’t recommend it (I think there are much better products out there)
Wasn't a fan
I did not enjoy this! I have dry combo skin, and this made it more clogged and congested. It didn't feel like it did anything for my skin except feel heavy.
Horrible - Never again!
Purchased this for my teenage daughter who suffers from traditional ache.
She’s used it a few time and each time, her face turned bright sunburn red, leaving her with white raccoon eyes!!
She said it tingles and slightly burned.
She used it a few more times and it just kept getting worse. Nearly a full bottle didn’t care, tossed right out in the trash.
Wouldnt buy again
After using this product for less than a week, i began to notic red marks appearing on both my cheeks like little red specs. The face was was giving me some type of skin reaction ive never experiences before with a charcol infused face wash
Very Drying face wash
I purchased this at the drug store when Charcoal became the new rave of skin care products. I liked the packaging and it was reasonably priced. The face wash was supposed to clean out impurities, blackheads etc I will say I have sensitive skin and most face washes just aren't for me. I use cream cleansers, that don't foam or strip the skin. After using this product my face became raw, dry, and irritated. I have since used charcoal cleansers and haven't had a problem, but the Biore in particular was way too harsh and drying for me. I returned it the next day.
ineffective, drying and irritating.
extremely harsh on the skin, causing dryness and irritation. The "clean" feeling that this provides is just the result of its irritating alcohol content which causes tingling (and also stinging if you get it in your eyes!) would not recommend to even those with very oily and resilient skin.
One of the worst face washes I've ever used
I don't often say I hate products. But this one was awful and maybe that was just me. I do have fairly sensitive skin so that might be why my skin reacted so negatively to it. The first time I used it I really liked how my skin felt after using it. But then after using it several more times I found that my skin was breaking out way more than usual and I kept getting dry, irritated patches on my face. That could be my skin type so if anyone has dry, sensitive skin then I would highly recomment starting clear of this product
This made my skin so sensitive
I bought this because my skin needed a deep cleaning because I was breaking out. At first, I thought it was working well but then I realized after a few days of using it I started breaking out even more.
I do not recommend this product if you have sensitive skin!!
I tried this a few times and it burned!! I don't have sensitive skin so this was very weird for me! I tried it a few times and each time was the same.
Worst face wash I have ever used. The cool sensation is probably the only good thing it has going. It doesn't lather well, it stays gelatinous until you work it a bit. My poor skin was so dry ( only using it every other day) that I ended up having to overcompensate with moisturizer. This in turn caused a massive breakout that had me giving away a 3/4 full bottle of fairly expensive face wash.
