Didn't enjoy this...
I have sensitive combination skin so that might be the reason I didn't love this face wash. It made my skin really dry and flaky, like it was sucking all the moisture out, and caused redness. Will not be repurchasing in the future.
Not a fan
I tried this several times. I have sensitive skin and oily too. My skin felt clean after but got really red and burned as well as made my face red each time. Days after each use I’d get a break out. I’d recommend it to people who don’t have acne
Biore charcoal cleanser
Tried this once and tried to leave it on for the recommended time but after about two minutes it felt like it was starting to burn my face. I washed it off and my face was extremely red and sore. Would not use again.
Great if you enjoy the sensation of burning skin
Unfortunately, I returned this product after trying it out. I don’t typically have sensitive skin, but geez this product made my face burn. And not like in a tingly menthol way, but like it didn’t agree with my skin. It took several minutes for my face to stop stinging after rinsing. I’ve read several reviews where people have said the same thing. I LOVE Bioré products though, and haven’t had an issue with any of their products until I tried this one. Wouldn’t recommend this particular cleanser to anyone with sensitive skin.
Way too harsh!
I have combination skin with a very oily t zone and very sensitive cheeks. This product made my breakouts worse and gave me dry patches on my cheeks. Has a very chemically smell and feel.
Unfortunately not for me
As many previous reviews state, this cleanser is great for oily skin, but for normal, dry, or combination, I would avoid it. It does dry out your face a bit which can cause breakouts if your skin gets too dry. Make sure you use an appropriate moisturizer with it or you will break out like I did. My skin usually only has a casual pimple, but this one actually made me break out from all the dryness after 2 uses. It does have a "cool" sensation, which for me turned turned to a burning/tingling sensation since I am mildly allergic to menthol... The allergy is usually only when I ingest mint products, but this one did make me feel it on my skin so I had to stop it after just a few uses. Some reviews said they felt a burning too, so I'm not sure if this is my allergy or just the product. Most products that contain anything mint usually have it on the front logo in some shape or form, like a mint leaf or flat out say "with mint" or "menthol" so this one slipped under the radar for me. The ingredients list does show that it contains menthol, but since I really didn't expect it to contain that, I didn't bother checking. My mistake.
Is okay.
I don't have overly large pores or a large amount of pores and I used this product over two weeks 1 -2 times daily. I did notice a slight reduction in pores but not enough of a change to recommend this to anyone. I imagined it would reduce my pores to almost invisible, but, over all in the end, I was disappointed. Will return to my regular charcoal cleanser.
Not great for anyone with dry skin
I had high hopes for this cleanser but was sadly disappointed. I have some dryness on my face during the winter months and this only exaggerated that. Possibly a good face wash for anyone with extra oily skin.
terrible for dry skin
Was excited to try this and couldn't wait for it to arrive. Being that activated charcoal products seem to be one of the new beauty fads, I wanted to give its whirl. I have pretty dry skin with almost zero pimples or blemishes. The product applies well and had a very "refreshing" smell and feel. Tingly... reminded me of mint. Used the product again on night 2. Big mistake. The next day my face broke out in an all over mini pimple fest. I had them all over my face, but mostly under my lips (the perioral area). I know over-drying your skin and stripping it of its moisture barrier with harsh cleansers can actually cause more pimples so I'm pretty sure that's what happened here.
