I tried these when I went to the United States one time and I was excited to try them because they are Birthday Cake M&Ms;! But sadly I was dissappointed they don't taste like Birthday Cake at all... they just taste like an overly sweet M&M;, not good.
Birthday Cake M&M;'s aren't what I was expecting. I was rather disappointed, to be honest... But then again, what exactly does "birthday cake" taste like?
These M&M;'s are twice as large as the regular ones (thickness and width), and only come in 3 colours (red, blue and yellow). I think the colours in these are a bit more vibrant and edgy when compared to the regular ones.
They taste just a bit sweeter than the regular M&M;'s but have the same texture with the typical candy coating that cracks and reveals smooth REAL mars milk chocolate inside. The flavor a cross of regular M&M;'s mixed with old chocolate icing. There certainly is an 'icing' type flavor to them, but it doesn't taste too realistic. More like a sugary "fake icing" type.
They certainly aren't worth the extra money over the originals, and they don't have anything special about them other than the fancy new packaging. But the novelty may be worth it to some - how cute would these be for a birthday gift?!
