Works on all floor types

This is a great vacuum for hard floors as well as carpet. My beloved vacuum had broken and I was in need of a replacement. It had to be able to hold up to pets, kids and also work on different floor surfaces. The first one we bought had a beater bar that just through the dirt around. The Bissel Powerglide has a beater bar that can be turned off but I quickly found out that it worked on my hard floors without being turned off. The hose is super flexible and has a long reach. It is pretty lightweight and very easy to maneuver. I am very pleased with this item and have already recommended it.
