A decent product for dry lips
I seem to have dry lips in all seasons, which causes cuts. When I bought this product it was quite pricey regarding its size, but it does moisturize. During the first uses, it does leave a minty tingle on the lip which in my opinion it made MAH LIPS FEEL GOOD! Requires time and many applications in order to see results. Overall, my only concern is the price and yes I do understand that it contains medicated ointment, but I didn't see much of an effect so I don't think it's really worth its price.
Oil
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Blistex, specifically their Lip Medix. One day I decided to venture and try this. It. Is. Not. Good. It feels like you put a layer of oil on your lips. It has a cooling effect due to Menthol as the ingredient. Other than that it doesn't heal your lips or works as a great moisturizer. It would work as a lip shiner if you dont have chapped lips or cracked lips. Else wise, I would opt for something else that would maybe have vitamins and add some hydration to the lips.
Smells like the ER
I have pretty dry lips, and live in a pretty dry area to boot, so of course I gave this a shot. It had some decent reviews. But for me, it was not at all worth the money. I actually found it didn't help my dry lips - maybe because it was too thin and didn't provide any kind of barrier, maybe because it is medicated and my lips grew reliant on it. But my main issue was the stench and the taste. It reminded me of the hospital. I admit that like a nice, sticky, pretty smelling lip gloss - medicated Blistex is a bit of a shock when you're used to candy lips.
This product made my lips burn. It didn't heal my cracked lips. If your considering this product, go for something more moisturizing, and that you can use after your lips heal.
every winter I seem to get a crack in the middle of my lip and the only product that has ever been able to fix it is the blistex medicated lip ointment. A plus product
I cannot stand this product. I always hear people talk about Blistex when they have chapped lips, so I decided to test it out for myself - during the winter. It went on smoothly, and everything was fine (except that my lips started to feel a little numb, and a little warm) - until my boyfriend started laughing at me. The lip ointment seemed to go on quite thick, so my lips were beige.. and it was sooo embarrassing! I'd never purchase again.
This stuff did not work for me, I'd apply it, it would sting, and my lips were still dry and chapped. I tried it just at night when I didn't need the added protection of a greasier balm and it still didn't do anything. My boyfriend likes it when his lips are chapped and it works for him so I would say give it a try it might work for you.
