Too Greasy
I received the Blue Lizard sensitive sunscreen for a free sample from Butterly. I was excited to try this as I had high hopes. It is a bit on the thin side and was easy to spread out evenly. Unfortunately this sunscreen was a NO for me. It left my skin so so greasy that I felt gross. So much so I had to wash it off after 20 minutes. My skin didn’t look happy either and was tacky.
Not brown skin friendly
I wasn’t happy with how this turned out on my skin. We’re in 2024 and almost all brands have deeper skin tone friendly sunscreens but this one left an awful white cast on my face and I wasn’t happy about that.
Not for black skin
First rule of sunscreen for me: Does it leave a white cast? Unfortunately this one left me with a blue cast (Felt like Smurfette for a bit) on both tries. On the 2nd try, I started with a pea size amount and it didn’t leave a blue cast but that was barely enough for less than half my face. If I did the 2-finger size test, then I would be blue. Perhaps this isn't designed for my melanin skin. For a product defined as sensitive, I found the after feeling, itchy.
Unfortunate allergic reaction
Although UVA/UVB protection is recommended and despite the cool feature of the color changing of the cap in harmful UV light, I got an unfortunate allergic reaction to one or some of the 28 inactive ingredients in this product.
Living in Canada not useful
Since this product arrived I have not been able to use it because I live in Canada, March and April spring is rainy and cloudy I do not need such a strong sunscreen, likewise I am hardly exposed to the sun and the few days of sun or when I go out I use a lower sunscreen protection with few ingredients, natural ingredients that benefit the skin.
White cast
Very prominent white cast and somehow accents any skin redness. Took a lot of rubbing in which did not help it absorb any better. White cast did go away after about 4 hours
hard to blend out and visible white cast
Just a typical white cast sunscreen, I could only use this on the body but even then it's thick and hard to blend out. It doesn't smell very great either and feels very greasy on the skin.
