I bought mine many many years ago from London drugs. I love using this product. I use it under my arms and the hairs are reducing yes it hurts first couple times but then will be a normal routine. I also use it many times on my legs and now there are few spots that dont have any hairs. It really works you just have to take the pain. I would definitely recommend if you hate hairs and shaving yes this is not as fast as shaving but it last longer then a shave. Love it.
Efficient, gentle to skin and long-lasting. The massage roller head is really useful. There's a shaver head in the package as well I tried it, but maybe a normal shaver is better. I use it for my legs and it really worth the price!
I have been using a Braun epilator for probably 5 years, and in the last year my daughter has been using it too. Needless to say, we got our money's worth out of it.
Recently it started to become less effective so I knew it was time to replace. I shopped around a bit but lo and behold I landed right back at Braun salivating over their latest 'n greatest Wet/Dry model, the 7681. Best of all, I found it on sale at a nearby retailer!
I have only used it once so far, but I can already tell I am absolutely in love with this epilator. It is cordless, can be used in the shower or on dry skin (just not underwater, so might be awkward to use in the bathtub), and has quite a few attachments. I probably will never get around to using them all, but it's nice to know they are there. The extra attachments are designed for face and underarm/bikini hair removal so this is an full-body epilator (if that's your thing. I won't be epilating MY lady bits).
One love/hate thing I need to quickly mention about the cordless-meets-Wet/Dry aspect. For obvious safety reasons, this epilator cannot be used while plugged in (think electrocution risk if using it near water). While this is very important, it also means you can't use the epilator when you've forgotten to charge it. I think the benefit outweighs the inconvenience though.
My absolute favourite new feature has to be the pivoting head, making transitions over and behind the knee so much easier than the previous model I owned (5280 for the record). If you remember the first time you used a pivoting shaving razor compared to the cheapie disposable razors, you will understand how huge this benefit is.
My favourite feature that they carried over from previous models is the bright light which mimics natural light. You really can see each and every hair! It boggles my mind that some other epilators on the market do not have a light.
My only complaint is that this model came with a plastic drawstring bag instead of the zippered travel case I received with my previous epilator. No problem though, as they are approximately the same size so I'll just swap out. Why a $100-150 epilator doesn't come with a proper travel bag is kind of a big miss in my books, but not a deal breaker.
As with any epilator, I would caution first timers about their expectations. Epilators in general are probably easiest for waxers to use because of the thicker hair common for people who mainly shave. That said, once you use an epilator several times, the discomfort rapidly diminishes as the hairs will become finer and therefore easier to pluck out.
I forgot to mention one other thing that was a little problematic. Be careful using the epilator in the shower/bath, because the casing is very smooth and if your hands are at all soapy it can be slippery to handle. Would have been nice if Braun had designed a removable silicone sleeve or had a more grippy profile on the unit for these wet use situations.
That said, I preferred using it wet for the main reason that your pores are really relaxed in the warm water so it's just that much easier and more comfortable than using it dry.
I've used this product for over a year now. I wish I never shaved because shaving caused my hair to become thicker. If I started with an epilator, my hair would probably be just as fine.
I use this on my legs and underarm. It hurt the first time I used it but it's tolerable after several uses. Sometimes I use it after a month and it gets painful because the length of the hair has grown much more than anticipated.
Overall, it does its job and leaves some redness for about a day.
I had to replace my old epilator due to an unfortunate and unexpected trip down the hardwood stairs. She didn't quite work the same after that. But I replaced her with the Braun Silk Epil 7 Expressive Pro and I love it!
Best feature? CORDLESS!! Next best feature? Can be used in the SHOWER!! The list goes on and on. It still removes most of the hair on my legs and underarms (Yes, it hurts, but it's worth the few minutes of pain) very very well. All that is left are a few short, hard-to-see hairs on my legs and they stay like that forever!!! Ok, well, not forever, but for a lot longer than shaving!
Did I mention it's CORDLESS?? So awesome! I am planning to take it with me to Spain fully charged so I can use it while I'm there and not have to worry about international voltage converters.
It also has a cool pivoting head to move over knees and curves. It has a shaver attachment and a bunch of caps for different areas. Overall GREAT improvement over my old epilator! Thumbs way up!
This epilator works well. It gets the hairs off pretty well. Some of the smaller finer hairs are harder to get though. I have used other brands of epilators in the past and this one seems to be more painful. Braun does make more expensive models than this one though, so maybe those are less painful.
This thing hurts like hell at first, but it pulls out the hair well. When I used it on my bikini area, it kept it hair free for about 5 days, which was nice. Way more cost effective than waxing, but hurts more. If you have a high pain threshold you'll be fine, but I wouldn't recommend it for the squemish.
I like this device. I use it on average every two weeks as my main hair removal. It's much better than the old versions, and very effective. I cannot wax, I find it excruciatingly painful, and shaving is not the most effective option for me, so this device comes in handy. In the beginning I too, found it painful and it took forever to do my full legs, but with time, I started using it on a reguar basis, and I don't seem to get as much hair growth and the pain is not a problem anymore. Maybe I just got used to it. On the other hand, it doesn,t remove everything, as any other depiltory device, it dosent catch all the tiny hairs, I do get ingrown hairs, although much less than before, it takes longer and I cannot use it in the bikini line area... it actually ripped my skin of, and I get a lot of really bad ingrown hairs.
Overall, I would def. recommend it! It's my main hair removal technique, very effective a much better alternative to shaving and if you can't wax for whetever reason.
Anyone who tells you that using an epilator doesn't hurt....is LYING!!! I get waxes all the time and they are NOT anywhere near as painful as this ridiculous device. I couldn't get past one section of my lower leg. And not to mention...It doesn't remove all the hair so you have to repeatedly go over the same spot. I WILL NEVER USE THIS PRODUCT AGAIN.
This product is not for use with my sensitive skin.It takes time to get use to and it leaves my pores red.
