I have been dreading having to write this review, because of all of the positive reviews surrounding this treatment, but here goes...

I have thick, wavy hair and I have a lot of it. It's about shoulder length now and I typically straighten it. If I don't use a flat iron on the highest heat setting, I will have an obnoxious amount of frizz. I also live in a very humid climate and even though I can manage to get my hair pretty soft, straight and frizz free using products and tools, the minute I leave the house, all of that work is lost.

If there is one thing that brings my confidence down, it's my hair; so I have been researching for literally years for a procedure/treatment that will help me with my it. I've always dreamed of having gorgeous hair. A friend of mine has been raving about her "Brazilian Blowout" for a while now. It intrigued me, so I starting looking into it. I saw a lot about the formaldehyde in the product, which deterred me from wanting to try it, but I eventually stumbled upon a brand that claims to be formaldehyde free, Brazilian Blowout. I found a salon that did it in Vancouver and made an appt. The girl did a great job explaining everything to me and kept getting me hyped up about the results that I was to see.

From all of the research I did into the treatment, the information directly from the Brazilian Blowout website, the information received from the salon and the information I got from my friend about her results, this is what you should typically expect:

    - Healthier hair (this is a keratin treatment)
    - Significantly less styling time
    - Shinier hair
    - Frizz-free hair
    - Softer hair
    - Cumulative results (I can't speak to that yet because I've only had one treatment)

I found that after having spent $250 for the treatment (that's not including colour and cut as well), I didn't get results anywhere near being worth the price.

My hair was just as frizzy after blow-drying it and still needed some heavy-duty work from my straightener and normal products. It took just as long to style as it normally did. It isn't shinier. It doesn't look or feel healthier. It is actually feels little drier on top than it normally does.

The only positive thing that I can say about my own experience with this so far is that my hair didn't frizz out in the rain, which was nice. Instead though, it seemed to get a bit greasy. But, no frizz!

I am trying not to be too hard on this product because there are so many great reviews out there for it and some amazing results. Don't be too convinced by before/after pictures though because a lot of the individuals featured would end up with some wicked salon results just from a good salon cut and style anyways, without the treatment. It just didn't work that great for my hair.

I had this new brazilian hair treatment that gets rid of frizz. It takes about 3 hours at the salon and costs around $300 BUT it is fabulous. My hair can be rally frizzy and now I can let it dry naturally and no frizz at all. I can stillblow dry it straight and it takes about half the time. This is a process that I can truly recommend.
