Shredded Mildly Sweet Coconut In Bar Form
I bought this granola bar at Metro on sale at a price of four bars for $5. I love coconut and chocolate so I was excited to try this; I was thinking it might have a bit of a black forest feel. When I bit into the bar, I was disappointed. The chocolate taste barely comes through, if at all, and there were no cherries in my bar. This simply tasted like I was eating shredded mildly sweetened coconut. The bar is also heavy in calories for a granola bar at 210. Unless you are looking to eat coconut in bar form, I'd skip out on this.
It's Alright
I am not going to say this is the worst granola bar I have ever had. This is a descent snack for every now and again, but there are a few issues I have with it. First of all, there is over 40% of daily fat in each bar. For a bar that is advertised as healthy, I would not say this is very good. I will say there is a good amount of finer in the bar though. My second issue is that you do not really taste the chocolate, so the name of the bar is sort of deceiving. Me and my sister both bought a bar and I had a large quantity of dried cherries throughout, but she had I think one. So, the chocolate cherry name is not fair at all especially since you cannot taste the chocolate and some bars have no cherry.
I found the granola bar had a mind cherry taste to it. The dried cherries were fresh tasting and provided a nice punch. Overall the bar tasted like coconut flakes. I am a huge fan of coconut so I am not complaining. The taste was actually descent. It was a good amount of sweet. These bars were on sale when I bought them 4 for $5 so I am glad I gave it a try.
