Breathe Right® Nasal Strips:
Ideal For Dry or Sensitive Skin:
75% OF CHICKS DIG IT
I ordered these as samples, and I tried them on when I was sick and had a stuffy nose.
The concept behind these are pretty simple: a bendy, metal material that wants to snap back to its "straight" shape with a stick side to stick onto your nose. Basically, by sticking it onto your nose, it pulls your skin forward (in front of you), thus allowing more space for you to breathe. Its simplicity is actually quite disappointing, as it almost seems barbaric in its methods. Nevertheless, it did make breathing a bit easier at night (though not a miracle by any means). Try it out by ordering it as a sample, but don't put too much hope into them and waste $15 buying a pack of them at the drugstore.
Breathe Right strips really are the answer to medicine-free clear breathing! I used these recently when I had a really bad cold.
Before these, I always reached for decongestants and nasal sprays, but both wear off in the middle of the night so what's the point, right? I also don't like getting into these cycles of taking meds because my illness always seems to last longer that way.
These strips are dummy-proof easy to use and are completely effective. They don't wear off either - you have to take them off for that to happen, and the adhesive is strong enough that they will not come off by accident.
In fact, that gets me to the negative part of my review. If you have sensitive skin, these are uncomfortable to remove. It's best to get in the shower and soak your face really well first, then gently remove. The adhesive on these strips are comparable to a really strong Band-Aid (you know, the fabric kind). This also means that wearing these several nights in a row can really be hard on your skin. However, going drug-free for that period of time seems to make my colds go away faster, so I have never had to use these more than 2 nights back to back.
I definitely recommend these strips, but just be careful when removing them!
I am still using the Breathe Right strips (love their "Advanced" version!), and I have to slightly amend what I said previously. For a seriously stuffy nose, these might not do the trick. They are most effective on slight to moderate stuffiness whether you're suffering from a cold or allergies. It's really important to wash your nose area before applying, and do not moisturize after washing. The product needs to go on your dry, bare skin to adhere properly.
I love these things, but they are a bit pricey. They are get or night time congestion. They can feel odd at first, though, like they're spreading your nostrils apart. It looks like it, as well. They stay put all night, which is nice, because I tend to toss and turn a good bit.
I find it to work when I am stuffed up at night from allergies, it helps me to breathe better.
I used to find that I was always tired when I'd wake up in the morning. Given the opportunity, I could easily sleep in to 11am to 12pm everyday, despite going to bed at night at a descent time.
My sister suggested Breathe Right nasal strips, which would open the passageways in my nose, allowing for easier air (and, thus, oxygen) intake. I tried them out, and I had the best night sleep I had had in years!
These strips allow me to breathe so easily now. I've been sleeping better, and I wake up each morning refreshed.
One criticism I have for the product, however, is the price. They are rather expensive.
I tried this on my nose. I have oily skin at times, so that's probably why it didn't stay on. Not comfortable either.
My boyfriend used this last night, and I was able to sleep the night through, and sleep in, thanks to these strips! He snores really loudly, even leaving the room doesn't always do the trick. I was impressed with these. They stayed on all night, and gave me the rest I craved. One of 2 snores did escape towards morning, but they were isolated. My boyfriend claims he can breathe better, and wants to wear them all the time! He refuses to take them off, and is convinced that breathing better will help him throughout the day. We will definitely be using this nightly, it is worth EVERY penny.
This is a fairly decent product. It's a drug free way of getting nasal congestion relief whether it be from a cold, allergies or if you suffer from snoring. I can only comment on it's affectiveness for colds and allergies. I find with allergies it doesn't help much, but if you've got a cold, and you take cold medication and use one of these strips while you sleep, you'll feel a lot more rested in the morning as it helps keep the nasal passage open.
