A Pastry Dessert in Ice Cream format!
I was really excited to try this blueberry grunt flavour as part of the Canadian series. There’s ribbon of what tastes like blueberry jam, along with chunks of pastry, the crumble kind you’d find in those blueberry crumble squares. It literally tastes like the pastry in ice cream format! The reason I gave it 4 stars only is because it is on a bit of the sweet side for me. But if you are all about your blueberry crumble squares and want to eat it in a cone, then this is your ice cream. It’s creamy and tastes like the name of the ice cream.
If you love blueberries you have to try this
I love everything blueberry and had to try this ice cream out. I had no clue what a Blueberry Grunt was and had to google it. Blueberry Grunt is essentially another name for a cobbler, very popular in the East Coast. The name comes from the supposed "grunting" sound that blueberries make while being cooked.
The Breyers Blueberry Grunt Desserts Ice Cream is essentially a blueberry cobbler crumbled up in vanilla ice cream. I really enjoyed it. There were generous amounts of blue berries in the ice cream and there was a nice balance of cobbler and ice cream. It wasn't terribly sweet either.
The Breyers Canadian Dessert line has some other really exciting flavors that are definitely worthy of checking out:
Sugar Pie
Butter Tart
Nanaimo Bar
Good
They both are creamy and delicious... my new favorite flavor

Blueberry Grunt Ice Cream
I picked up this blueberry grunt ice cream with a full price coupon. I liked the vanilla base and the pastry pieces. I didn’t find the blueberry swirl particularly reminiscent of blueberries but it was fruity. It’s also a smaller container then I was expecting.
Delicious!
The flavour was delicious but didn’t taste as strongly with blueberry as I was expecting. I also didn’t taste any crumble like was advertised on the package. Loved the creaminess of the ice cream. Would pair perfectly with blueberry pie!
Good Choice of Canadian Dessert
Again this Breyers dessert makes a delicious combo with vanilla Light Ice Cream with a blueberry swirl and pastry pieces. Their texture is good, smooth and creamy. Their flavour is nice and I recommend to add a little more blueberry swirl and pastry pieces would make it perfect. My family all enjoy it and we will definitely try all other flavours.
Love the crumble crunch
This ice cream is very flavorful, the blueberry gives a nice tarte/yet sweet kick. The best part is the crunchy dessert clusters in there that give a pleasant surprise.
Decent Adaptation
A nice adaptation of a Canadian dessert. The blueberry ribbon is a nice touch, but the bluberry flavour could be a bit stronger, and less sweet. The crumble bits are too chunky and dry, and I can do without them in this ice cream. Perhaps a gahram cracker version would work better.
Bababangin
Excellent job. Gui feiri would probably eat this ice cream cause it's flavour town worthy. The coconut is a nice touch will be buying again soon!!!!! Thanks
Blueberry goodness!
I was very excited about this flavor, and had high expectations. I love blueberry pie, blueberry crumble, blueberry crisp, and anything similar. The East Coast Blueberry Grunt is a stove top dessert that comprises a blueberry sauce with dough dumplings cooked within. The ice cream generally translates the concept, the ice cream itself is a lush and creamy vanilla, with ribbons of delicious sweet-tart blueberry coulis. There are pastry-like pieces scattered throughout to mimic the idea of the dumplings. The ice cream and coulis are incredible. The pastry bits have me on the fence, as I find they taste undercooked and chalky as well as too large and square. They might taste better broken up a bit more, or a bit better cooked, neither of which the eater can take care of. I still really enjoy the Canadian Desserts Blueberry Grunt ice cream, but it could be better.
