well this is the third that i have taste tested and i think one of the best :) it was rich and creamy but not too sweet it was like eating a nice piece of melt in your mouth belgian chocolate from the shop and yet it still remains light in texture and taste, so in order for me it would be....

i do have to say though if you love ice cream and eat it often the price for any if not all of these can hit you hard unless you live alone lol and your the only one indulging in but would i reccomend it??????

This one's fabulous. It's very chocolately. I don't particularly like dark chocolate, but this ice cream is great. Very creamy. The chocolate flavour is more intense than most ice creams. I think the price is a bit high though (it was $8 at my local Loblaws) so I'm not sure if I would purchase it - maybe if it's on sale.

I received three flavours of Breyers Double Churn ice cream to review: Banana Cream Pie, Chocolate Cheesecake and Dark Chocolate velvet. All of them tasted wonderfully decadent, smooth, rich, creamy, but not too dense or sweet and the ice cream was light and fluffy in texture. All three tasted true to their names.

The first one I tried was the dark chocolate velvet. OMG, i am in HEAVEN! This was my favourite out of the three that I reviewed. The taste is rich, creamy and smooth and the chocolate flavour tastes like a very high quality dark chocolate that you would find in a gourmet food shop. The chocolate ice cream is better than ordinary chocolate ice creams due to the richness and taste of the dark, dark chocolate. Sometimes it tastes like a brownie. It's smooth, and creamy. So decadent! The texture of the ice cream is also amazing. It's so smooth, fluffy and light - it would be easy to get carried away while eating it. =) Two thumbs up!!!

These are probably the best ice creams I have tasted in a long time. I also loved the packaging of the gift box that came with three cute round bowls and sundae spoons (plus ice cream vouchers that I redeemed at the store)! I had my girlfriends over who also LOVED the ice cream and we sat around raving about how great all the ice creams were while watching a movie!

We would rate them all a 8.5/9 out of 10!

This dark chocolate velvet is just that! It's velvety smooth, and so delicious. The first bite was like eating a really expensive piece of chocolate. It is not too sweet, but so rich and creamy and the flavour is a nice dark chocolate, not too bitter, but not too sweet. I have not been a big fan of chocolate ice cream lately, but this is my new favourite flavour! My husband loves it too. This is a very high quality ice cream. I think it's the double churn that makes all the difference.

Thanks Chick Advisor and Breyers for sending me the ice cream coupons! I had an ice cream party to taste some of the new flavours. Everyone was a big fan of the Double Churn Dark Chocolate Velvet ice cream. I’m not nuts about chocolate, but this one made me change my mind (and also changed the mind of another non-chocolate lover in the group). It actually tasted like you were eating a real dark piece of chocolate – not that fake chocolate taste. One person thought it tasted like something you’d buy at a high-end ice cream parlor and not a grocery store. The ingredients were high quality (rich flavours) and had almost a fudge type taste to it as well. Yes, I’d definitely recommend this ice cream to my friends!

I was able to try this from Chick Advisor review club. This ice cream is a chocolate lovers dream! Its smooth and creamy texture was amazing! The rich chocoloate flavor was sooo good! I shared this with my family and friends and it was a big hit. I would definately buy this again!

This stuff is like a chocolate lovers dream come true. Its both creamy and chocolaty, and delicious. I love dark chocolate, and i was a little worried that it wouldn't be dark enough for my tastes, but I was so wrong. It is worth every penny!!! I have been recommending it to every body!! Its a wonderful summer treat, and I will continue to buy this!

The Dark Chocolate Velvet Ice Cream is delicious. Although it says Dark Chocolate, it's not bitter at all like most dark chocolate. It was creamy and not too sweet. I enjoy chocolate alot, but probably would not pay full price for this. It reminded me of a fudgsicle. I like fudgesicles and the price of fudgesicles would agree with my wallet a bit more.

I was selected to sample this ice cream (along with Banana Cream Pie and Chocolate Cheesecake) as a member of the Product Review Club. I received a sharing package with the coupons in the mail that included three little ice cream bowls and three sundae spoons. The packaging of this kit was absolutely adorable! I was super excited to try the ice cream once I had the kit in my hot little hands.

The Dark Chocolate Velvet Double Churn ice cream is to die for! I can't express how amazing it is. From the very first bite I was swept away! I'll start with the flavour. The chocolate taste in this ice cream is intense. It just the perfect amount of chocolate and just the right flavour of chocolate. It didn't taste overly sweet or syrupy. It satisfied my chocolate craving just perfectly. It did taste pretty close to dark chocolate without the slight bitterness that I find with most dark chocolate. It was delicious!

The texture was also amazing. It was so smooth and fluffy (can ice cream even be fluffy?). It was nice a creamy and didn't have any grittiness to it. It just melted like heaven in my mouth.

This ice cream is better than the best. It is better than any other chocolate ice cream I've had in my life. It is well worth the $8.99 price tag.

All I can say is, wow! This flavor was so freakin' awesome. I came home the other day and hubby had actually given a bowl to my MIL - horror ;) The chocolaty taste was just perfect, the texture was oh so smooth and it sure lived up to the name! I will totally buy this again. Just writing about it makes me want a bowl :D
