Protein !!
I really like this! The taste was great and I didn't even really taste the protein like the my protein ice cream that I normally buy from Popeye's. Thanks for the opportunity ChickAdvisor to taste this for free! I liked the vanila too!
A lot of money for not a lot of ice cream.
I received a coupon from ChickAdvisor for a free 500 ml container of Breyers Delights in Vanilla Bean.
The product itself I thought was quite good for a low calorie ice cream. It wasn't as creamy as I had hoped it would be but it's only 70 calories a serving and 280 calories for the whole 500 ml container. You can absolutely indulge in this without feeling guilty.
The only downside is the price. I might buy it as a treat once in a while but it's not something I would buy regularly. It's just too much for such a small amount of ice cream.
Yum
So I have a trip planned to the beach in a few weeks and have been trying to get that beach body I'm comfortable with so I have cut back on calories which means all my fav snacks but I was selected to try Breyers Delight Vanilla Bean Ice cream for free from Chick advisor and it was like winning the lottery. I now have an amazing tasting guilt free snack in my freezer. It is so full of flavor and I almost finished the entire pack in one sitting. This will forever be a snack I have on hand from now on! Thanks Chick Advisor!! #Gotitfree #chickadvisorrocks #Breyersdeliciousness
Sweet, Sweet Vanilla Bean - a true ice cream delight!
First and foremost, this ice cream is DELICIOUS! Although it is on the verge of almost too much vanilla. It really depends on the spoonful. Some were pure bliss while others were pure extract. If you like a hint of vanilla this is not for you. If you absolutely love vanilla then this will surely do it for you. Like I said, I personally thought it was delicious but was also shocked by the intense vanilla and sweetness.
Though there may not be a lot of calorie, using skim milk definitely increases the overall sweetness of this ice cream. Personally, I don't find advertising "280 calories" as intriguing as it's a relatively small container compared to the average Breyers tub. That and it's still ice cream. I guess if you're counting calories, it's nice to know that you can still enjoy this ice cream without compromising your daily intake... Although good luck not eating the entire thing. I also found it a bit strange to mention protein on the packaging. Ice cream is not something I think of when I'm wanting to add protein to my diet, nor do I think about it when trying to be calorie wise. So really, an odd choice in terms of marketing. I don't know who that targets, but I think it's pointless as this is not a health food.
Moving on from the packaging, in total I think there are about 10 standard ice cream scoops in the 500ml tub if you use a regular scoop which, I did as I received both this ice cream and a Breyers scooper complimentary through chick advisor. Maybe I don't have as much self control, but this equated to three servings. That being said, it's SUPER EXPENSIVE.
I received a free product coupon and yet, still had to pay. 50 cents as the coupon only covered up to $7.99 and I found it at Safeway where it was priced at $8.59. Again, yes, it's really delicious ice cream, but unless it's on sale I can't justify paying that much ($8.59) for such a small tub of ice cream. Even the ice cream you find in the "health food" or "natural" section is cheaper. It's also not the most exotic flavor so I was really thrown off by that.
Overall, I genuinely enjoyed Breyer's Delights Vanilla Bean ice cream and would certainly recommend it to any fellow vanilla lovers... but only when it's on sale. $5.99 or less and we're golden!
Vanilla Victory
I'm a classic vanilla ice cream kind of gal and I was so happy to review this flavour. Made with real vanilla bean, this is a light yet flavourful dessert that can be appreciated alone or accompanied with a piece of apple pie or brownie. Although it doesn't have the super creamy consistency as a traditional ice cream has and the perception of it lacking taste due to the calorie count, it's a true indulgence that you can enjoy without any guilt! The downfall to this product would be the price. Paying at least double the price of a regular tub for half the quantity will make you think twice about purchasing this product a full price.
A nonguilty pleasure
I wasn't expecting much flavour with such a low calorie count but wow the vanilla flavour was great. With only 280 calories in a whole container you don't have to feel guilty about having a little indulgence. Another added bonus is there is 16g of protein and 20g of fiber in the whole container. I would definitely like to try the other two flavours and see if they are just as great. My only complaints t is the price point is a little too high at 5.99 for a 500ml container. I would for sure recommend trying this ice cream out if you are looking for a low calorie dessert.
I #gotitfree in exchange for my honest opinion.
Not bad for a low calorie ice cream, but a bit pricey.

I found the flavour to be light and creamy, though the texture took a bit to get used to. You can definitely tell that it's made with sweetener, as it has a bit of an odd aftertaste. For a low calorie snack though, it's pretty damn good.
The major downside of this is the price. It costs about the same amount as the bigger Breyers ice cream containers. Unless you're really needing to stick to a diet, I would say it's more cost effective to buy a bigger tub of Breyers ice cream and have way more flavour options.
Will not buy again
I was not impressed with this at all. The flavor was week. I could taste normal vanilla but not a vanilla bean. I was really looking forward to a vanilla bean flavor. I also didn't feel like this taste like ice cream it was more like 2% milk.
Good Taste, High Price
I was selected to try BREYERS DELIGHTS VANILLA BEAN in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions and I was so excited because I love Breyers, I love ice cream, and I love guilt free snack options! Breyers is my go to ice cream brand when I’m in the mood for something sweet. The addition of a low calorie, protein added option is awesome and I’ve never seen something like it before!
The ice cream or frozen dairy dessert comes in a 500mL tub which works out to four 1/2 cup servings with 70 calories, 5 g of fibre, 7 g of sugar and 4 g of protein per serving! Ideally I would like to see a lower sugar count per serving but I guess sugar and ice cream is pretty standard and is expected. The ingredients list also notes skim milk, water, cream, artificial sweeteners, sugar, frozen egg yolks, natural vanilla flavors, and a few others I don’t know and can’t pronounce.
The ice cream is really hard upon opening which I actually enjoyed because it didn’t melt right away and was easier to eat. You can actually see the little black specks of what looks like vanilla beans, however vanilla beans was not an ingredient on the ingredient list... I am thinking the black specks might be the “vegetable gums (carob bean)” on the ingredient list?? I have no idea but I don’t think that natural vanilla flavour gives off little black specks.
I actually didn’t enjoy the first bite of the ice cream but I think it was just the difference in texture that threw me off. A few more spoonfuls and it felt and tasted like I was eating a bowl of regular ice cream. The vanilla flavour was nice and the ice cream was still creamy and delicious. I love supporting local and was impressed to see the “ Dairy Farmers of Canada Quality Milk” logo on the tub! I love the addition of the protein to the ice cream and even though I could have sat down and ate the entire tub in one sitting, after a dozen small spoonfuls, I was actually full!
The cons? I found it to have that artificial sweetner aftertaste. I appreciate the efforts in trying to reduce calories and sugar but I still want to be able to enjoy it. While eating it everything tastes fine but after a few minutes reality sinks in and you’re reminded that it is a little too good to be true. If I was watching my weight and needed an alternative to regular ice cream it probably wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me, but as someone who is not in that position I wouldn’t choose this product over a normal ice cream product. Lastly, the price point is very steep. At one store I found it at $6.99 and at another it was $8.79. That is crazy. Unfortunately I would not be willing to spend that much on this product but the fact that it was sold out in one of the stores I went to means that many people are.
I would reccomend this product to those who are looking to satisfy their sweet tooth and lead low sugar, high protein diets and aren’t afraid to pay for it. For someone like me to likes to indulge when that craving hits, I would not reccomend this for you!

Such a yummy treat!
Vanilla ice cream has always been my favorite, so I was super excited to try this out in hopes that it would be a delicious and slightly less caloric alternative and it has absolutely impressed me. The flavor is really, really delicious without being too overwhelmingly sweet like some vanilla ice cream can be and it has a really smooth, creamy flavour that doesn't leave me wishing it had that little bit more fat for flavour. Know what I mean? I will definitely be stocking my freezer with this in the coming warmer months and snacking on it - probably straight from the pint - whenever I want a little treat. Mmm!
