First of all, I was very impressed with the package that arrived from Breyers. It was a really lovely gesture for them to send 3 little ice cream bowls and spoons.

Since I'm lacking in freezer space I decided to throw an ice cream party so my friends could help me test out the 3 ice cream flavours.

I have to say, this flavour was the least desired by my friends out of the three that we tested. The flavour was better than we expected, although not everyone was sold on the idea of banana cream pie ice cream. I don't think that this will become a best seller, but it's certainly an option when you want something different!

We all felt that $8 was a bit much for the tub of ice cream, and more than once people remarked "what's with the double churn thing?" It seemed to raise people's expectations for the quality of ice cream, and while it was quite creamy, it didn't seem all that different from other ice cream we've eaten.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this flavour as I find most banana flavoured foods (other than bananas) end up tasting like the banana flavoured penicillin I took as a kid.

That is why I am happy to say that I really enjoyed this flavour. It tastes exactly like a Banana Cream Pie except in ice cream form which makes it so much better. It was really smooth and full of flavour. To make it even better, give yourself one scoop of the Dark Chocolate Velvet and one scoop of the Banana Cream Pie and you're in heaven and eat them together. The mix of the banana and chocolate is amazing. I think this would also go well with chocolate cake.

Like the other flavours, I found that this one also melted at a more rapid pace than other ice creams.

I love this ice cream very much. It really tastes like banana and so smooth going down my throat.I ate the whold thing myself. Sometimes when I eat ice cream,the taste goes away after a few bites,but the taste from this ice cream lasts every spoonful.

I tested this product through the review club. Or atleast I tasted it two or three times.

Honestly, I didn't really like this ice cream. I've tried banana flavoured popsicles before, but not ice cream. I was curious to try it, but I must say I was disappointed.

What I liked: The banana flavour was alright. It really did taste like I was eating a fresh banana, but it was so creamy and the taste was a bit too strong.

What I didn't like: I really didn't like the waffer or what ever the crunchy substance was. I found it made the ice cream feel gritty. Along with the other two ice creams (Dark Chocolate Velvet and Chocolate Cheesec Cake) the ice cream melted really fast.

All in all, I wouldn't really recommend this ice cream except for the use in smoothies. My brother didn't mind the ice cream, so I suggested he try it in a smoothie and he seemed to like it. Other than that though, for the price that it is, honestly, I would just walk on by.

The only things banana I like are the fruit and banana bread...so I really wasn't feeling this flavor...the flavor was too overpowering and I didn't like the bits of pie crust in it either...
Even my boyfriend's mother who loves banana & ice cream, didn't like the two together.

I have to admit I was leery to try this because banana cream pie is my favorite pie. But I was not disappointed! The banana flavor was not overpowering and this ice cream did the trick :) I found the texture a little weird at first, but got used to it after a few bites and realizing that it was meant to be like the pie crust. I'll likely buy it again, but definitely not as often as the chocolate!

I don't really like bananas (or even most banana-flavoured things), but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this ice cream. I kind of thought that it would end up being more 'for guests', but I've eaten almost all of it myself in the end. What I like best is that the banana flavour is 'authentic', and does not have that 'manufactured banana' flavour (you know what I'm talking about!). Having said that, however, it's not overpowering, which I think is part of the reason that I - as a non-banana-lover in general - am really enjoying this ice cream. The nice light/mild banana flavour is quite refreshing for summer. And the good flavour is paired with a really nice texture (true to other Breyers Double Churned ice creams) that's wonderful on the tongue - absolutely no ice crystals or 'graininess' to this one. I would recommend it (and have already done so) for sure - even to someone who doesn't think she likes bananas!

This ice cream was pretty good. I'll say up front that I don't really like Banana Cream Pie, so I wasn't the best candidate for this flavour (I was sent the ice cream as part of the Product Review Club). The Banana wasn't overwhelming, but it's still not my favourite. I'm much more of a chocolate ice cream kind of gal.

Hmmm.... this is very yummy. Rich and creamy. The banana flavour is really good, not a fake banana flavour - tastes like the real thing. I really like the chunks of pie crust in it too.

I received three flavours of Breyers Double Churn ice cream to review: Banana Cream Pie, Chocolate Cheesecake and Dark Chocolate velvet. All of them tasted wonderfully decadent, smooth, rich, creamy, but not too dense or sweet and the ice cream was light and fluffy in texture. All three tasted true to their names.

The banana cream pie flavour tasted just like the real thing. The flavour profile is true to form. The ice cream is fluffy and smooth. The banana cream pie flavour doesn't taste artificial, dense or overbearing. Although the ice cream is rich, smooth and creamy, the banana cream pie flavour tastes light and refreshing. I do like the fact that there are crushed graham crackers in the ice cream (to mimic the crust of an actual banana cream pie). I liked the varying texture and think it works well.

These are probably the best ice creams I have tasted in a long time. I also loved the packaging of the gift box that came with three cute round bowls and sundae spoons (plus ice cream vouchers that I redeemed at the store)! I had my girlfriends over who also LOVED the ice cream and we sat around raving about how great all the ice creams were while watching a movie!

We would rate them all 8.5/9 out of 10!
