Thank you to the Product Review Club for the chance to try Breyers Double Churn Chocolate Cheesecake Ice Cream! As an ice cream this product is great! Smooth and creamy. Definitly chocolately! Delicious! But, as a few of my fellow reviewers pointed out, the taste of cheesecake was not as noticable as I was hoping for! There is a definite "tangy, cheesy" flavour to it, but not enough to identify the flavour as "cheesecake".

I love cheesecake and had high hopes for this flavour of ice cream!! I can't say it deserves a "Fugheddaboutit!" becasue it is a great ice cream, just not "cheesecakey" enough to carry the flavour title "Chocolate Cheesecake". Perhaps they need to kick up the flavour. Some chunks of real cheesecake maybe?

I was surprised to see the price was $7.99 a carton at the Superstore where I bought it. I then checked the coupon, which was valid up to $9.00!!! That's a lot for an Ice Cream that doesn't taste like it claims to taste!

I love cheese cake so i was excited for this one because i never tried cheese cake flavored ice cream. i was kinda disappointed when i tried this. although the texture was creamy and smooth it didnt taste much like chocolate cheese cake. it tasted more like regular choclate ice cream but with a very light cheese cake taste. (but it was not very noticable). Overall the ice cream is good as a regular chocolate ice cream but as a chocolate cheese cake ice cream, i dont recommend this one.
in addition, i would love to try a fruity cheese cake ice cream flavor like strawberry cheese cake.

While I saved this flavour to savour last, as I LOVE cheesecake, it definitely paled in comparison to both the Dark Chocolate Velvet and Banana Cream Pie. While I expected a delicious rich ice cream, filled with strong cheesecake flavours - what I got was a nice chocolate ice cream with very mild cheesecake flavours. Had the ice cream not been named "Chocolate Cheesecake" I'm not sure I would have noticed the cheesecake at all. I much prefer cheesecake ice creams with actual chunks of rich cheese cake embedded throughout and think Breyers may have to give thie one another go.

This ice cream was super yummy! The taste surprised me a bit: I had expected it to be really cheesey but it was light and it was strongest during the initial taste. The chocolate overpowered the cheesecake but it was still there enough to taste it.

I had some friends try it out and they also really liked it - even the ones who claimed they hate cheesecake!

This was a great and interesting alternative to the regular flavours - definitely worth the splurge!

This flavour was good, but in comparison to the Banana Cream Pie and Dark Chocolate, I'd say this flavour is my second choice. I find the name of the ice cream to be misleading as the flavour is labelled as Double Churn Chocolate Cheesecake but it tasted as if there was a lot of chocolate and a very very mild cheesecake flavour. My friends also seemed to enjoy the ice cream as well...however they were quite dissappointed when they found out that the ice cream is supposed to taste like chocolate cheesecake. In any case, I'd recommend this flavour to anyone who is looking to enjoy a bowl of rich and creamy chocolate ice cream. If you are looking for a cheesecake flavour ice cream, I'd recommend trying another brand.

This was the first flavor I tried and it was nothing special... I have tried various kinds of cheescake flavored icecream (my favorite flavor) and I was very disappointed with this one. It tasted like a cheap version of icecream cheesecake. Usually I prefer if it is a cheescake flavor that it have pieces of real cheesecake in it just like the breyers double churn banana cream pie flavor has pieces of graham crakers in it. I wouldn't reccomend this one to those who loveee cheesecake ice cream ;(

This is the third product that I tried, from the Breyers package (courtesy of the review club).
In comparison to the dark chocolate and banana cream pie, the cheese cake flavor scores last for me.
With the other two products I get the impression of Breyers releasing a "gourmet" line of ice cream (complete with the price tag - which is ok - if its worth it.)
For a gourmet flavor, this lacked flavor for me. They should have made the flavor really rich.. as a good cheese cake has. That being said - the ice cream did not taste bad, and is great if you are going for a mild taste and you want to change it up from your average chocolate and vanilla. For me, it just did not measure up to the other two flavors.
Breyers could tweak the taste I am sure! - but once again, kudos on the packaging and visual presentation of the ice cream.

After I got my wonderful package from Breyers through the product review club, I had to think of the perfect place to try these flavors.... I took them to a friends summer bbq and this chocolate chessecake was the least liked. I also tried it and I'm not a huge cheesecake fan, but it just didn't really taste like cheesecake. The kids at the party definately didn't take a liking to it and there were a few big cheesecake fans who thought it just didn't taste like cheesecake. It had a very light cheesecake flavor, but mostly chocolate. Overall, I found it a bit disappointing. I still think overall, the quality of breyers double churn ice cream is creamy and yummy so I still finished my helping for this flavor - it is also quite nice looking with the chocolate swirls. I wouldn't buy this one again (even if it was on sale) I think some of the other cheesecake flavored ice creams on the market taste more like cheesecake....

First of all, I received a big box in the mail. When I opened it, it was an elegant looking Breyers box. When I opened the Breyers box, it was so pretty inside. It had 3 spoons attached to an enveloppe along with a letter from Breyers and three bowls. It also had 3 coupons for 3 cartons of ice cream, which were Dark Chocolate Velvet, Banana Cream Pie and Chocolate Cheesecake. It was all placed on this beautiful green silk cloth.
The second one I tried was the chocolate cheesecake . I went to my local grocery store and corner stores, and it was no where. So I had to drive an hour out of town to go to a grocery store that had it.
As soon as I got home, I opened the ice cream up, grabbed one of the spoons and a bowl, and enjoyed the delicious taste of the ice cream with my boyfriend again. It tastes so good. Just like a cheesecake. I've never tried a chocolate cheesecake though. But this ice cream sure is delicious!!!!! I recommend this kind.

This flavour was the only one of three I tried (others being Dark Chocolate Velvet and Banana Cream Pie) that I found disappointing. I'm a HUGE fan of cheesecake so I was excited to try this type of ice cream but I found it disappointing. I really didn't find a cheesecake flavour...I think adding some small chunks of cheesecake would have helped. There was nothing bad about it but it was decidely average.
