I received 3 different flavors of Brookside dark Chocolate bars through the chickadvisor product review club. I was really excited to try these bars because I love the Brookside dark chocolate Açai & Blueberry little dark chocolate balls and the dark chocolate Mango and Mangosteen. The mango coconut crunch tablet bar was the one I was most excited about and most disappointed by. I LOVE coconut but the coconut flavor in this bar tasted very fake, almost sunscreen like, and I feel like it ruined what could have been a great bar.

This was my least favorite of the bars I was sent to try. I didn't like how the mango tasted with the dark chocolate. I am not a big fan of mango on it's own either. Although I wasn't a fan of the taste, the bar is obviously high quality and is presented very attractively.

Product Review Club!!

I had the opportunity to taste 3 different flavours of Brookside DARK Chocolate bars through the product review club. I have had Brookside Chocolate before through a few of their different chocolate covered fruit items (chocolate covered blueberries and acai berries have always been my favourite) so I was really looking forward to trying in the chocolate bar form and I wasn't disappointed!

The 3 flavours I tried were; Blueberry Almond with Acai Flavour, Tart Cherry Crisp with Pomegranate Flavour and Mango Coconut Crisp.

Blueberry Almond with Acai Flavour: Definitely my favourite, it tasted just like the chocolate covered berries that I love so much. It is a rich flavour but not too sweet and also does a really good job at mixing the flavours of blueberry, acai and almond, with real pieces of blueberry and almond. The combination of all the flavours flow really well together and taste amazing. I also found it great as I'm starting a new meal plan that doesn't include much sweets, so the chocolate bars are great because you can break a square off or even break a square off and break it in half for a smaller piece and I found that to be satisfying enough for dessert after dinner AND it's great for sharing.

Tart Cherry Crisp with Pomegranate Flavour: This one was a very close first! It tasted a bit similar to the blueberry almond. I found with this one that you can really taste the tart cherry at first but then it is quickly diluted with the bitter sweetness of dark chocolate. The flavour really reminded me of cherry chocolates (the ones you buy around christmas) which I LOVE to eat around christmas time but wouldn't want to eat them all year round. This one was also my boyfriends favourite, I think because of the tartness and he really likes sour/tart flavours. The one thing I really enjoyed about this one is the crispiness which they created with something similar to a rice krispy cereal piece but it adds a nice crunch when you're indulging.

Mango Coconut Crisp: This one was definitely my least favourite out of the three. It was the one I ate the least of which is kind of crummy because I was really looking forward to trying this one. I feel like this one probably would have been better without the mango, I love coconut flavoured anything and I get what they were going for, but I feel like this might be a new flavour that they were experimenting with and failed a bit. There are real pieces of mango in the bar which I feel are just too overpowering and it doesn't really taste like mango as it does orange. You can barely taste the coconut but sometimes you get a random bite where you CAN taste it but then it just ends up tasting like chocolate sunscreen and a bit like Mango Malibu Rum. One thing I did like (as I mentioned in the above review) was the crispiness. Very satisfying when you chew!

Overall Brookside Chocolate can do no wrong. They make really good quality products that are super tasty, alot of natural ingredients and aren't as bad for you as some of the commercial chocolate bars you see at your grocery store checkout line.

If you want to try it out, start with their chocolate covered fruit items, you can buy them in large bags AND snack size bags usually found in the chocolate and candy isle at the grocery store.

This was my favourite Brookside Chocolate bar flavour!! Immediately after opening the bar, the smell of coconut and a hint of mango flooded out which smelled wonderful. The dark chocolate is smooth and melts in your mouth while still being sweet enough that even milk chocolate lovers would appreciate. The flavours of coconut and mango where prominent enough without overwhelming the taste of the delicious chocolate. Finally, the addition of the crisp peices give the bar some added crunch and texture. Overall, this is a delicious chocolate bar and my favourite of the three!

I have to say the Mango Coconut Crisp was my least favourite flavour of the Brookside chocolate bars, the smell and aroma once I opened the packaging was too artificial. I didn't enjoy the combination flavours as much as the berry options. Even the packaging was impressive, I noticed that it's not that convenient to seal or eat later once it's opened. I don't think I would buy this flavour or recommend it to a friend.

Let me start by saying that I enjoyed this, but I still prefer the original Brookside chocolates.
I really like how smooth Brookside chocolate is. It has the depth of flavor of good quality dark chocolate, but is still exceptionally smooth. This is probably my favorite thing about this chocolate bar.

However, this bar could use less rice crisps. It feels like these are being used a a filler rather than as a texture enhancer. This bar would be much better without them. Instead, this chocolate bar has mango-flavored CHOCOLATE, with a fair amount of mango pieces and limited coconut.

I constantly find myself munching on this. It totally satisfies my chocolate cravings, which are much too frequent. It's especially satisfying because it tastes so different from the chocolate bars I'm used to! I'm not sure how I feel about mango-flavored chocolate, though. It's a bit weird on my taste palate, but if you like it, then this is the bar for you!

I love sharing these chocolates with my friends, and they love receiving! It's divided into big pieces, and small pieces, so you can share without sharing too much, haha. I feel like these Brookside chocolate bars are PERFECT gifts if you want to really please someone without spending heaps of money.

All in all, I would probably buy this again, but don't buy this simply because you like brookside! Buy this because it is a good quality chocolate bar and it is smooth, melts in your mouth, and has a rich mango flavor! Personally, I would grab the original Brookside chocolates before I grab this.

As always with Brookside Chocolate, this bar is quality chocolate aND a pleasure to your taste buds. I was not sure about the coconut as I'm not a fan of it, however, I was pleasantly surprised that with the combination of mango, it truly worked together to create a palate pleasing taste.
Again not overloaded with fruit to take away from the creamy chocolate , this tropical inspired bar is wonderful!

I thought out of the three, that this would be my favorite because I love coconut and mangoes! however, for some reason I found the mango a tad artificial in scent and flavor. I would be repurchasing the cherry or blueberry one instead.

I received this product for free as part of the Product Review Club. This bar was my favourite of the three flavours because it transported me from the bleak cold winter to somewhere tropical with its lovely mango coconut flavour. The crunch wasn't too hard or too soft, just right. The flavour combination wasn't something I expected in a chocolate bar, and the chocolate wasn't too bitter or too sweet. This bar is a case of all the right things being put together to make something great. Definitely going to help me in dreary winter weather!
