I received three tablet bars to try for free through the Chick Advisor club. I love dark chocolate and fruit combos. This one for me though was a miss and my least favourite out of the three. Firstly, the smell was very striong. The taste did not leave me wanting more. Instead I found it hard to finish just one piece. Aprart from that, the packaging is sturdy so the chocolate doesn't break and I think the coloured foil is cute, Don't think I will buy this flavour in the future.

    MY REVIEW /////

The packaging > I am very impressed with the high quality packaging of these chocolate bars. Each bar comes in a sturdy cardboard sleeve that helps protect the bar from damage. The packaging has an aesthetically pleasing design. The high quality images of the chocolate bar on the front cover of the packaging clearly show its ingredients. Within the cardboard sleeve, you will find the chocolate bar itself. The bar is wrapped in a gold plastic foil wrapper with a classy looking pattern to preserve the bar's freshness. The packaging is very informative. It lists the nutritional value of the bar and its ingredients. It even has allergy information. All in all, the packaging gives you the impression that this is a premium chocolate bar.

    The aroma >
Upon opening the wrapper, you are greeted by a very pleasant, yet subtle sweet aroma. You can definitely smell the dried sweetened mango and coconut that's within this bar.

The appearance of the bar >
The bar itself is beautifully designed. It is conveniently segmented into an interesting mosaic of rectangles and squares. It was very easy for me to split the bar evenly three ways due to the way the bar was segmented. Some of the rectangles and squares have images of the Brookside logo embossed on them, while others have a pattern matching that of the plastic foil wrapping...very attractive!

    The ingredients >
I really like the fact that all of the chocolate bar's ingredients are evenly distributed and visible throughout the bar. You can clearly see the crisp rice and coconut in this chocolate bar, although the mango is difficult to spot. Also, the ingredients appear to be all-natural, recognizable, and pronounceable which is a big plus!

    The texture >
The texture of the chocolate bar is interesting. It is a balanced combination of crispy, creamy, and chewy. I would say that Brookside's Mango Coconut Crisp is slightly creamier than its Blueberry Almond with Acai and Tart Cherry Crisp chocolate bars. The Mango Coconut Crisp bar has just the right thickness, making it easy to bite into. You certainly won't lose a tooth eating this chocolate bar.

    The flavour >
The chocolate bar has just the right amount of sweetness. I think the coconut helps to tone down the bar's sweetness. A pleasant surprise was the taste and texture of the dried sweetened mango in this chocolate bar. It was interestingly chewy and I could detect a hint of tartness even though the mango was said to be sweetened.

    Value >
At a MSRP of $3.69, I find this chocolate bar to be average to fairly good value given its quality and weight.

    Conclusion >
I really enjoyed the appearance, taste, and texture of this chocolate bar. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys quality dark chocolate with the flavours of mango and coconut. The packaging is so attractive, that I would not be ashamed to give this chocolate bar as a gift to someone. I view Brookside's Mango Coconut Crunch Dark Chocolate Bar as a nice change of pace. Pleasant images of the Hawaiian Islands came to mind as I enjoyed this chocolate bar. As a result, I will probably purchase it in addition to the chocolate I already buy.

This was my least favorite of the bars I was sent to try. I didn't like how the mango tasted with the dark chocolate. I am not a big fan of mango on it's own either. Although I wasn't a fan of the taste, the bar is obviously high quality and is presented very attractively.

Let me start by saying that I enjoyed this, but I still prefer the original Brookside chocolates.
I really like how smooth Brookside chocolate is. It has the depth of flavor of good quality dark chocolate, but is still exceptionally smooth. This is probably my favorite thing about this chocolate bar.

However, this bar could use less rice crisps. It feels like these are being used a a filler rather than as a texture enhancer. This bar would be much better without them. Instead, this chocolate bar has mango-flavored CHOCOLATE, with a fair amount of mango pieces and limited coconut.

I constantly find myself munching on this. It totally satisfies my chocolate cravings, which are much too frequent. It's especially satisfying because it tastes so different from the chocolate bars I'm used to! I'm not sure how I feel about mango-flavored chocolate, though. It's a bit weird on my taste palate, but if you like it, then this is the bar for you!

I love sharing these chocolates with my friends, and they love receiving! It's divided into big pieces, and small pieces, so you can share without sharing too much, haha. I feel like these Brookside chocolate bars are PERFECT gifts if you want to really please someone without spending heaps of money.

All in all, I would probably buy this again, but don't buy this simply because you like brookside! Buy this because it is a good quality chocolate bar and it is smooth, melts in your mouth, and has a rich mango flavor! Personally, I would grab the original Brookside chocolates before I grab this.

*I got this for free as part of the Chick Advisor Product Review Club, but my review is not affected by that.*

I did not really like the Chocolate Bar in Mango Coconut Crunch because of the combination of mango and coconut chunks. It had a nice flavour to the dark chocolate but it tasted too sweet. The strong taste of mango made it hard for me to actually taste the coconut pieces in the chocolate bar. Great quality of chocolate but the blended mixture of dried coconut and mango chunks did not seem to appeal to my palate. I think I'll need to buy some now, maybe it will change my opinion but for now I didn't really like eating this chocolate bar out of the three.

I thought this chocolate was a very high quality chocolate starting with the wrapper
The outside wrapper was very appealing with a orangey gold foil strip that matched the inside wrapper which was a fancy foil orangey gold. The orange being incorporated for the mango.
The chocolate itself was etched with trees and patterned blocks and the words Brookside. It was divided into different sectioned pieces so you could have a lot or a little.
The chocolate itself had a very nice crunch to it from the crispy rice and it had the perfect amount of chewy dried mango bits. The mango was very sweet and paired nicely with the dark chocolate.
The chocolate also had a very strong but pleasant fruit scent to it. Overall it was a decadent chocolate and I enjoyed it very much.
I was a however a little disappointed because I did not taste any coconut and I really like coconut. In the title it makes you assume it is a main ingredient but i it does not appear till the bottom of the ingredients. It is however a great chocolate bar but not if you want a coconut taste.

I received this chocolate from the product review club,
I don't think I would have picked it up otherwise.

It wasn't a horrible taste, but it I didn't enjoy it.

I have the chance to test FOR FREE the Brookside Chocolate Tablet Bar in Tart Cherry Crisp with Pomegranate Flavour. This opportunity was offer by Chick Advisor of course!

In the past I tried the cranberry one (but not in bar). I would say that I love black chocolate for their proprieties.

I tried this one in the third place. Usually, I do not like the coconut flavour, but I give it a try. It smells a lot coconut, but it does not taste so much! Very good for me! The mango balances the flavour I guess. The crispy side is truly appreciated. Very surprising to me but, I very liked it! The crispy side was my favorite part.

The packaging is practical and very classy. It’s very handy that we could take the chocolate by square so we don’t have to eat too much!

I was satisfied of the product, and surprisingly I will buy it again! Thank you Chick Advisor!

No one in our little sampling party (me, my husband, and my parents) was particularly impressed with this bar :(
The mango flavour tasted artificial, and was a little bit overpowering. We couldn't taste the coconut at all, which was disappointing!

As with all three bars, the quality of chocolate was pleasing - it was smoothest and softest in this bar, perhaps because of the oil of the coconut? The chocolate was not bitter at all, considering it's dark chocolate. And we all liked the crispies in it.

I wish that either the box or inner packaging was resealable, though, as the bars are too big and too rich to eat in one sitting (although I could do it if I was forced).
I would definitely splurge on this again for a treat or gift.

I received three Brookside chocolate bars to review from ChickAdvisor and have to admit this was my least favourite of the three, which surprised me because I thought it would be my favourite. I love everything coconut flavour, but the mango flavour was just too strong for me, it was overpowered with mango taste. If someone really enjoys mangos, they may like the chocolate. It was a bar I finished eating, but I wouldn't buy it in store, I would rather have another kind. The bar definitely tastes like the Caribbean.
