I received this Brookside product for testing purposes. I love the packaging of the bars - it looks clean, sleek and modern. I am a big fan of Brookside chocolates that I have tried in the past so had high hopes for this product. Sadly, I was a little disappointed by the taste of this bar - it was good to snack on while at work (something to fill my hungry stomach) but it did not leave me wanting more like I was expecting. Packed with great ingredients though and a healthier alternative to eating a chocolate bar. Would buy again if on sale. I hope i am more impressed with the other 2 flavours :)

This was one of three different bars I received as a free sample from the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. It is very tasty, although I did find the chocolate coating just a little bit waxy tasting. Not enough to put me off trying them again however. I would certainly buy them in the future.

I was lucky to be selected to be part of the Product Review Club for the Brookfield Bars. Unfortunately, I have to say the bars had an interesting taste to them and the "fruit" flavour did not taste right. It was a manufactured flavour and left an odd taste in my mouth. For the 180 calories and little protein I would sooner buy a "real" chocolate bar.

I didn't know what Acai was before trying this bar, but it's healthy, just like all the other ingredients in this bar.
I love these bars cause I can actually see the whole nuts and ingredients that are in it without having to look at the ingredient list. i got to try this for free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club, and also love that it's non GMO and gluten free. It's a premium bar, and you'll definitely notice the difference.

It was nice to see that the product was made with real fruit, a source of fibre, non-GMO and gluten free. At 180 calories each, not bad on the waistline either.
The amount of chocolate wasn't too overpowering and the fruit flavour was more prominent. They were chewier than I had anticipated. Containing nuts, I would have thought they would have been a bit crunchier.
The retails price on these bars is $1.99, which is a bit steep but when they are a good quality bar, I will be looking for them in stores the next time I am out shopping.
Out of the 3 flavours available this was probably my least favorite, but was still enjoyable.

I received the Brookside Dark Chocolate Fruit & Nut Bar - Blueberry with Acai for free as part of a ChickAdvisor Product Review Club opportunity. I enjoyed the Blueberry with Acai bar. It was flavourful, not too sweet and had a good consistency. There was a nice balance between the sweetness of the fruit, the dark chocolate flavour, and the crunch of the nuts. I was surprised at the quantity of nuts in the bar and that for the most part they were large or whole pieces vs. small bits you get with some bars. Probably one of the better snack bars on the market. The only thing that would prevent me from purchasing this bar would be the calorie/fat content. With 180 calories per bar and 9grams of fat this isn't something that can easily be incorporated into a low calorie/low fat diet. As a treat, I would definitely consider it because of the healthy ingredients inside.

This bar was delicious and I liked how it is made with real fruit. The quality ingredients in this bar makes it taste as if it is homemade and the fruit & chocolate combinations were delicious. I would highly recommend these to a friend. They are perfect for snacking or as a late night treat.

Taste great. Just enough sugar taste and fruits. It was great for lunch break at lunch with a tea. I would buy it again because it's nutritive and taste good.

I loved it very much. It contains just enough fruits and nut. It's a great idea for kids lunches. I will buy it again very soon.

As with the cherry flavored Dark Chocolate fruit & nut bar, I was impressed with the flavour- blueberry really came through in this

I know blueberry & Acai are supposed o be superfoods, full of anti-oxidants and other disease fighting properties, but I just had a hard time with the 15% fat content, and 5mg of cholesterol...As well as the 180 calories ( which is pretty standard for protein bars I guess)
But for something this tiny to represent about 1/10 of my daily caloric requirements, I need a bit more bulk.

For kids who are picky eaters, this would be a great treat though.

And the 12% of RD fibre - it's not bad.

Nice again that there are no arificial colors, flavors, or GMO products used in making these things, and that they are gluten free for people who are avoiding gluten.

My problem is, if I had a few of these in front of me, I would have a hard time not eating them.
    They do taste really good.

    So - I am conflicted.
