A delightfully fruity taste, with high quality ingredients. Only improvement may be for the chocolate to have less of a waxy taste. However overall it was a filling and tasty snack. Would recommend.
This was probably the most forgettable flavor out of the 3 bars I got to try out. The cherry flavor was almost non existent and it was too nutty for me. It was better than the Special K protein bars but for the price it just not worth buying for me.
I received the Brookside Dark Chocolate Fruit & Nut Bar - Cherry with Pomegranate for free as part of a ChickAdvisor Product Review Club opportunity. I enjoyed the Cherry with Pomegranate. It was flavourful, not too sweet and had a good consistency. There was a nice balance between the sweetness of the fruit, the dark chocolate flavour, and the crunch of the nuts. The cherry flavor did come through more than the pomegranate in my opinion. I was surprised at the quantity of nuts in the bar and that for the most part they were large or whole pieces vs. small bits you get with some bars. Probably one of the better snack bars on the market. The only thing that would prevent me from purchasing this bar would be the calorie/fat content. With 180 calories per bar and 9grams of fat this isn't something that can easily be incorporated into a low calorie/low fat diet. As a treat, I would definitely consider it because of the healthy ingredients inside.
The Cherry and Pomegranate bar was my least favorite of the three bars. I tend not to like cherry flavours and this was true for this bar. I did think the nutritional value was good for the bar. It was quick and easy and I would buy the other two flavours again.
I got to try this through the Product Review Club ! Overall, I don't think I'll be buying another one. The price is steep for a granola bar equivalent. The taste was alright, found it to be on the sweet side with just too much going on. I do like that it is very natural, with a great source of fiber, made with real fruit, and also not a GMO !!
Updating because I couldn't have the same reviews - even if they were simply different flavors. Personally, never been a berry person - so this cherry pomegranate flavor was not for me.
I would say the cherry with pomegranate was surprisingly my favorite out of the three I was selected to test. It had the most pleasing flavour without being too tart. I would have loved to experience more of the rich dark chocolate, and found that the super thin layer of the bottom of the bar wasnt nearly enough and a nice drizzle on top would have made it so much better. Overall it is a tasty product and seems like a healthier option that a sweetened granola bar.
Brookside is really stepping up their game, first with the chocolate bars and now these. It's great that they are made with real fruit and are gluten free for those who are sensitive to that. They made a great addition to my lunch as a special treat however they have a high calorie count and high sugar content so they are more treat than healthy choice, just something to keep in mind. But it was a unique bar with a strong fruit flavour and nice addition of dark chocolate that I found satisfying.

This bar is a great addition to the Brookside game, it has a strong cherry/fruity flavour and seems very fresh like it was packaged recently which is nice to get in a granola bar. It made for a great afternoon snack.

Taste like Robitucin madicine :(
There is a bitter tasteonce you finish masticating. The mix is not verry good.
I didn't like it, i wouldn't recommend it.
These are normal sized granola-type bars, with a chocolate base.
I did not like the tart taste of the chocolate, so ended up just eating the fruit and nuts (half a bar). The fruit and nuts part was delicious, but the ingredient list didn't seem to have a lot of natural sugars in it. The fruit and nut base did remind me of the homemade granola bars I make in the summer for bicycling though.
They do taste less sweet and better than alternative bars (minus the chocolate part), so it might be a good idea for just plain (sans chocolate) bars to be part of the product line.
I wasn't sure about the pomegranate at first, but the cherry sweetness overshadowed any of my doubts.
I wouldn't purchase this bar on my own accord, and only recommend them to people who really like bitter chocolate.
