Light flavored sardines
Brunswick Sardines can be purchased at Loblaws or Walmart for under $2. There are many different flavors including lemon, tomato, spring water and mustard. I was interested in trying lemon because I am a huge lemon fan. I even love putting lemon on my salad with salt! The lemon flavor was mild but it was present. It was not too sour in any way. I feel like the lemon taste was a bit run down from the oil and water. The sauce is not thick at all but rather quite runny. There is a good amount of sardines in each container and they can be broken down and become flaky. The sardines are light and flavorful. This would not be my favorite flavor to purchase but I would get it again.
Light Lemon Oil Sauce With Lots of Sardines
I bought this package of sardines from Loblaws for under $2. There are a variety of flavour options available. The metal can has a metal opener, which could be dangerous for those who are younger. There were three large chunks of sardine in my pack with lemon sauce coating the sardines and additional sauce at the bottom of the can for dipping into. The lemon sauce was runny, as it is quite oily, and does not do a good job of coating the sardines like the tomato sauce version does. I find the flavour of the lemon sauce to be mild but present. The taste reminds me of lemon juice mixed with oil and a tad bit of salt.
I like that this contains 25 per cent of daily recommended calcium, 80 per cent vitamin D, and 10 per cent iron.
